I was a bit disappointed with the lack of interact able objects & overall content. It took me 4 hours to complete the first episode & all trophies. Graphics are a bit better.

I hope the second episode is bigger.

The rewind mechanic is gone and Chloe's "backtalk" gimmick is honestly nothing special. So in that aspect it's not as good. In terms of story I think it's on par with the base game. It was interesting to see Rachel who is compelling character. I enjoyed it, but it's definitely more generic compared to the base game, and probably even moreso if you haven't played it and aren't already familiar with these characters.

I've not played any episodes including the original and was wondering if it's better to play the prequel first and then the original? Or should I do it on the original order it was released?

IMO, you should play them in continuity order. So, prequel first then the original.

I think I would recommend that as well. There are some references you won't get playing the prequel first, but on the other hand you gain the rewind mechanic in the original/main game. And going the other way will feel like a downgrade (which it did).

I am playing this on the XB1.

When I first started this game, I was playing as Max. I got to the part where I entered the dorms to look for my room. I quit playing at that point. A day later, I continue the game and I play as Chloe, instead. It looks like it skipped part of that dorm section. Weird.

Anyway, I find Chloe’s hate for her mom’s boyfriend to be funny.

In Before the Storm you only play as Max in the Bonus episode which comes with the Deluxe Edition.

No I did not. Same disc. Must be a glitch.

Ooopsie!! I figured out my problem. This game disc has bonus episode with Max, too. It looks like I can select either Max’s (Life Is Strange) episode or Chloe’s Before The Storm episodes on the Xbox dashboard. I clicked on the wrong one to play. Gotcha!
