You're kinda proving my point, lol! Having too many villains is not a problem, the real issue is how they are handled. A movie like Black Panther had like three villains with Ulysses Klaue, Killmonger, and Man-Ape. Where as people crap on Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark Word, and those had less villains.

Man what a joke, can’t believe the writer from that article actually believes what he’s saying. “What will happen to the 5years of character development?” What development? He is the same whining little boy he was at the start. Speculating on who did what wrong and who will “get their hands on” Spider-man now, is just as bad as assuming Disney was going to make his character gay (just because Holland is too simple-minded to not chime in on the current ‘outrage’ topic of -swapping). Who knows where Disney was headed? What I do know is that they stated they wanted to keep him young for awhile and I’ve heard elsewhere that the movies would be John Hughs-like. Well, they certainly missed the mark as far as creating a John Hughs film, but they did keep him in a perpetual state of immaturity. I couldn’t stand his shameful display of selfishness and stupidity (handing over powerful weapons to someone you just met) in FFH. Also, why would they think it was effective to have a reveal and then have Spidey fight against what amounts to a parlor trick? Spidey vs the Drones is the 3rd act, really? Not to mention still leaning on Stark’s legacy, like we needed to be reminded again how he adopted Spidey-boy, instead of moving ahead of the mourning phase into him taking the reigns of his own character? I’m not sure of I could have taken another Disney Spidey production if they were so hell bent on holding back on progressing his character development. At least now, Spidey and Venom can play together again.

Didn't North Korean hackers help us get Spider-man into the MCU in the first place? We need them again!

Sony can still make this a follow-up to Homecoming and Far From Home and possibly get away with VAGUELY referencing the MCU. They're still able to use MJ, Ned, Vulture, Mysterio (though they'd have to cut his MCU connections mostly), as well as introducing Kraven, Osborne, Sinister Six. It could work if there's minimal studio interference and they have the same guys who wrote HC and FFH, as well as Jon Watts directing. Sadly they will likely have to get rid of the Happy Hogan/Aunt May pairing.

It will definitely be weird seeing "In association with Marvel" in the opening instead of the Marvel Studios logo. But hey, I still have some hope that Sony and Disney will end up working it out in the near future (fingers crossed)

I essentially agree. Tom Holland still plays the part as if he’s channeling a 5 month old puppy dog. It was fine at first but I honestly don’t believe they’re comfortable moving beyond that.

Well, first it was Seth Rogen with The Interview, then it was the North Korean hackers.

The exciting thing about Sony having Spidey is that Spidey movies going forward can go as big as they want. They don't have to be smaller in scale compared to Avengers sized story lines.

I'm hoping that the Sony/Disney split is temporary as I really like Tom's Peter/Spidey. However, I also hope the split is long enough to have a Hardy Venom/Holland Spidey movie. That image above of Venom holding Spider-man's head is awesome. Even though Venom is obviously not canon in the MCU, after watching Venom, nothing has really happened in the MCU or Venomverse that would contradict each other and allows one to pretend they are in fact connected. I was skeptical about Venom before I watched it, but I really do think, if both Sony and Disney are careful, they could make this work without any continuity errors.

If I'm missing any errors already apparent in the two different universes that kills the illusion, let me know. I'm hoping I didn't miss anything but I could be wrong.

Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Walt Disney Studios jointly announced today that Marvel Studios and its President Kevin Feige will produce the third film in the SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING series, starring Tom Holland. The film is scheduled for release on July 16, 2021. As part of the arrangement, Spider-Man will also appear in a future Marvel Studios film. Amy Pascal will also produce through Pascal Pictures, as she has on the first two Holland-led films.

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” said Feige. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

“This is terrific. Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in Far From Home and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes,” said Pascal. “This has been a winning partnership for the studios, the franchise and the fans and I’m overjoyed it will continue.”
