Pretty early days for it at the moment, I think Sony have only rearranged stuff leading into the Summer.

I feel like having this release December 2021 would probably be possible but only depending on if it really has a "Christmas" vibe for the majority of the runtime.

Marvel could chose to set every one of their films during Christmas and they are still going to make money. No one will be concerned about seeing a Christmas Spider-Man in the summer when you have Tobey Maguire and Alfred Molina returning

I'm glad Tobey Maguire is back in a film. Sure, he a complete and utter dirt bag in real life, but think of all the new memes we'll have thanks to his appearance in this film.

I have an feeling that the movie is probably going to get delayed from its release date in December 2021, since they are still filming scenes, and we haven't seen our first trailer yet.

It’s still almost a year away. They were filming scenes here in DC for Winter Soldier less than eleven months before it hit theaters, and we seldom see official trailer footage for a movie more than six months out.

The actual issues that could lead to a delay are two-fold: Sony’s release slate getting pushed back again and again (they’ve already delayed Ghostbusters and Morbius three times now, and they’d be putting out Spider-Man 3 right between them with only five weeks on either side) and any potential delays in production for other films necessitating it.
