4/5.
Wildly hilarious but also starkly frightening that this happens every single day in front of our eyes and we don’t even know it. Netflix should have let someone with deft hands release this because Rosamund Pike and Dianne Wiest should be up for Actress and Supporting Actress this year. Masterful work on both parts, especially Rosamund. Peter Dinklage is fun as the Russian mobster/son of Dianne Wiest’s character. Just an all around funny, engaging film that flies by. 2/5. Started off well, but the last 30 minutes or so go off the rails. Diane Wiest is excellent but disappears about halfway through it (she does come back, albeit briefly). Good acting; non-existent character development. And by the way: if Marla loves being wealthy so much, why don't we ever see her enjoying that wealth? And if she's keeping a low profile to cover up what she's doing, what is the point of doing it?

2.5/5. Starts off well and the performances are good, but the third act falls right apart. Supposedly stone cold killers magically become The Keystone Cops and Rosamund Pike's character is suddenly superhuman. This is one of those movies where the plot armor overrides everything.

I strongly disliked this movie. Everything about it rubbed me the wrong way, especially the handling of Pike's terrifying and all-too-real scam.
If a poll is added, make sure there's a 0 / 5 option. |

Super dumb movie that gets more and more stupid as it goes along. Really... who wants to watch a movie with a protagonist whose main trait is "I scam old people and ruin their lives." Painful.
But I guess I was somewhat entertained by the ridiculousness. Pike was perfect for the dumbass character and sold it way better than the film itself did. Was sad that Dianne Wiest totally disappeared halfway through considering how damn good she was... I had no clue that sweet old lady could be so scary. [Show spoiler] generous 4/10 for me |

Rosamund Pike was a menace. Dug the ending too. Made for a lot of uneasy viewing though but solid film

Good performances and it starts off well, but gets more and more ridiculous as it goes along. Comes off more as a missed opportunity.
Pike continues to badly need a new agent. She's too talented to let her post-Gone Girl career go to waste like it has. |

1/10. Ridiculous nonsense. Netflix is so bloated with cash it just chucks money at any mid range product with a couple of known actors, irrespective of quality
