Mad Max FR and GOTG were tops in my neck. Followed by Doctor Strange3D, Moana3D, and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Rogue One I didn't pre-order mail or in-store and walked into BB at around 1:30 and there was a display that had a sign saying "limit 2 per customer" and there were many for the taking after I picked up a copy. I still saw Kong Skull Island several weeks after its initial release at 2 different stores . Blade Runner 2049 4k ranks just behind Logan and Zero Dark Thirty.

To answer the op from my perspective, Thor the Dark World and Mad Max we’re the most difficult to get. |

For that one I walked into BB at around 5pm or so if I remember correctly intending to pick up the regular copy. I asked my wife to grab me a copy while I looked at something else & she comes back with the last steel left in the store. The Fury Road one is the one I wanted most when it came out & wasn't able to get.

I have all of them except War of the Worlds (wasn't collecting at that time) The Hurt Locker (G1, got the UK version) & The Thing (not a fan of the art)
I dropped the ball with BR2049. I had the Italian SB ordered, but cancelled when I saw the BB 4K version. I preordered, but my card expired a week before it should have shipped & I didn't know. When they were available online again about a week later, I was able to get my order in, but I guess BB ran out.(Shouldn't have ordered 2) They cancelled my order on Feb 1st (thanks for ruining my daughter's bday BB) I got LUCKY with MMFR. Like many others, my Aug. 11th 2015 preoreder from wasn't honored on Sept 1st. (At least they didn't charge me for the digital copy I got when I preordered) On Sept 11th I was at the BB on 44th & 5th looking for a copy of The Last Dragon with a slip & I saw MMFR on the rack. I didn't even bother to examine it but I also forgot I was looking for TLD. Security asked if I was OK like 4 times (I was walking around the movie racks trying to remember why I was there for about 20 minutes) so I paid my $32.95 & got out of there. Turned out it had spine slash after the X but I didn't care. Then on Sept 28th the price online when back to $19.99 & I was able to get a price adjustment. ![]() I feel like my MMFR story doesn't belong in this thread ![]() Edit: I was selfish with Doctor Strange. I preordered a 2D copy, got it. Happened to have the day off. Went to my local Best Buy, got the last 3D copy. I don't even have a 3D TV or like 3D, but I bought it anyway. They were keeping them behind the register & the cashier said "this is the last copy. There was a guy behind me who congratulated me for snagging the last one. He obviously was there for a 3d copy. I felt bad for like 2 seconds, thanked him & left. ![]() Last edited by jd_from_da_80s; 03-30-2018 at 02:55 AM. |

I don't think it is hard to get these days, I've seen it for $10 for a long time on Best Buy online and it was available when the last Transformers movie came out

Would the Cowboys and Aliens steel from Target be the holy grail of US steels?
In terms of my Best Buy experience, the original Logan 4K release has to be up there. While I was in line to get my copy from in-store pickup, there were other people searching the store and asking employees if they had anymore. One guy must've felt great after getting shot down by an employee while standing five feet away from all the in-store pickup copies. |

How does one know what steelbook is going to be prized down the line?

So for the mad max, I see several versions of the steelbook. Which one would be more prized? the one that actually said 'limited edition steelbook' ?

We are talking about US steelbooks, so that'll be the Best Buy one, as that is the only steelbook released in the US so far for the movie

Ah ok, the future shop one is more expensive. The best buy one can be bought for about $20.
