What a weirdly picturized song. Is this some Mr. India remake, I'm reminded of the scenes between Sridevi and the kids of Anil Kapoor's orphanage.

More like Kindergarten Cop than Mr. India. Mohanlal plays a supercop who poses as a schoolteacher in order to nab a terrorist, as his kid is suspected to be a student there.

^Aha, and in between finds time to romance the female schoolteacher...or is Soundarya also a student there? Considering the wide age range of the kids seen in the song, I would not be surprised

Not Soundarya, it's Meena. She's the proverbially rude English teacher - with a usual bad-ex-hubby backstory to justify her temper tantrums - who locks horns with the new Physical instructor (who else but...?) and later falls for his charms.

I would have laughed at the thought of Mohanlal, who clearly loves his neyyappams and idiyappams, as a physical instructor, but I know at least from my school days that a lot of PT instructors are actually like that, fat ****s who'll just stand on one side blowing a whistle, expecting the students to turn cartwheels while they try to flirt with the token female instructor, who knows zilch about PT and is probably just there to make sure he doesn't grope the girl pupils. To his credit Lal is a lot more animated than the PT instructors were in my school.

^Looks more like the upscale of a DVD. Quite disappointing if this is supposed to be a 4K restoration of a celluloid source.

It's nice to see the initiative taken, although the people involved are also showing their ignorance of basic terminologies by saying "4K and 8K prints". Also 8K makes little sense for a 35mm production. Hope the technical people will be respectful towards maintaining the original color grade (please ask the DoP to supervise if possible) and the film grain (it will be more difficult for youtube streams, but at least try not making it look like digital video)

Unfortunately, Ramachandrababu, the film's DP, passed away last year. Also, public's memory of the film has been marred by various cable channels with them telecasting only the heavily red/purple-tinted prints (even the original producers, who have controlling stakes in one of these channels, are guilty of this). In fact, if my memory serves right, only the ancient Thomsun videotape (at least somewhat) accurately represented the visuals as the makers intended. That the producers haven't released the film on any other subsequent home video format didn't help things either.

And the 4k version of the song on Youtube too doesn't give me much in terms of hope. This is not an overtly dark or contrasty film, but the song looks way too contrast-boosted with the shadow details nearly gone.
