Default Life Is Strange 2 September 27 2018 !!

I just hope the rumours aren't true, about this not having any returning characters from the 1st.

What's the story for this? I've heard literally nothing about it.

Turns out, despite them saying "Captain Spirit is not Life is Strange 2" it totally is. At the end of the game, which you can download today, it says Chris will be returning in Life is Strange 2. It’s even listed in the store as the Life is Strange 2 demo.

Wait for the entire thing to come out physically, it’s usually cheaper.

Assuming it picks up where Captain Spirit ends, you play as Chris, a boy raised by an abusive father who blames you for your motherís death.

While he is in the sequel,I highly doubt he is the main character. He is what, 9 or 10 years old? Life is strange 1 and the prequel are about high school students. Only way he is the main character is if they jump years ahead.

Considering Captain Spirit ends with Chris discovering his powers after
[Show spoiler]falling out of the Treehouse,
it is very possible the game starts off a few years later with his powers already existing. Also keep in mind, just because in the first game Max was 18 and Chloe was 19, or in the prequel Chloe and Rachel were both 16 doesn’t mean they won’t go younger for the sequel. The way Captain Spirit ends, how it’s not a self contained story but the beginning of a story, really enforces the idea that this is what Life is Strange 2 will be about

I really wanted to slap that jerk.

Really like the look and upgrade in graphics from the original.

Wow,if I wasn't confused enough about if this sequel is about high school kids,or elementary school kids. A new trailer dropped a few minutes ago, and it has me baffled !!

Two brothers on a dangerous road trip.

https://www.usgamer.net/articles/lif...rous-road-trip

Quote:
The game stars two brothers, Sean and Danial, with the player taking over the role of the older brother Sean. The two of them are on a journey to the west coast of Mexico and Sean's, aka the player's, choices will not only affect him but his brother Daniel as well.

One example of this is during a scene shown at a behind-closed-doors event at Gamescom where Sean steals a candy bar for his younger brother. This action will influence Daniel's behavior later on. Make enough of these choices and the way Daniel behaves will be pretty changes by journey's end presumably.

Captain Spirit doesn't relate directly into Life is Strange 2 and is meant to showcase the tone of the sequel.

I think I'll wait to hear how people are liking this first. I was drawn to the first one because of the time manipulation aspect. And I played the add-on because it was the same story but I found it quite lacking without that mechanic. Captain Spirit did nothing for me.

Why do they say that your captain spirit progress will transfer over?

They're set in the same universe. I expect it to amount to little winks and nods in LIS2.

Currently playing through this and struggling to connect with it, I admire it's ambition and larger scope, and I find the choices and repercussions interesting and unpredictable. But the episodes feel too self-contained, and the whole narrative feels slow due to it, Iíve only just finished the third episode and I think itís the first one where the characters (and your choices) seem to carry over into the next one.

Compared to the contained first game that not only allowed you to revisit characters and settings affected by your decisions, but also had the compelling mystery driving it, this is lacking. I also find Daniel to be a very contrived character who drives situations to where the game devs want it to go, and contradictory from scene to scene, making it difficult to gauge conversations and leading misguided decisions. I understand theyíre trying to convey anger and frustration within his character, but his lack of understanding makes him a very unsympathetic case.

I started this weekend and will probably finish up Episode 5 this evening and have the same issues with this game. It's hard to connect with characters when you only see them for a few scenes then they are gone. It's also highly political compared to the LIS1 and LISBTS which puts me off since I play games to escape the real world - not relive it.

With all that said, it is still an interesting game and I don't regret buying it.
