I just hope the rumours aren't true, about this not having any returning characters from the 1st.

Turns out, despite them saying "Captain Spirit is not Life is Strange 2" it totally is. At the end of the game, which you can download today, it says Chris will be returning in Life is Strange 2. It’s even listed in the store as the Life is Strange 2 demo.

While he is in the sequel,I highly doubt he is the main character. He is what, 9 or 10 years old? Life is strange 1 and the prequel are about high school students. Only way he is the main character is if they jump years ahead.

[Show spoiler] it is very possible the game starts off a few years later with his powers already existing. Also keep in mind, just because in the first game Max was 18 and Chloe was 19, or in the prequel Chloe and Rachel were both 16 doesn’t mean they won’t go younger for the sequel. The way Captain Spirit ends, how it’s not a self contained story but the beginning of a story, really enforces the idea that this is what Life is Strange 2 will be about

Wow,if I wasn't confused enough about if this sequel is about high school kids,or elementary school kids. A new trailer dropped a few minutes ago, and it has me baffled !!

I think I'll wait to hear how people are liking this first. I was drawn to the first one because of the time manipulation aspect. And I played the add-on because it was the same story but I found it quite lacking without that mechanic. Captain Spirit did nothing for me.

Currently playing through this and struggling to connect with it, I admire it's ambition and larger scope, and I find the choices and repercussions interesting and unpredictable. But the episodes feel too self-contained, and the whole narrative feels slow due to it, I’ve only just finished the third episode and I think it’s the first one where the characters (and your choices) seem to carry over into the next one.
Compared to the contained first game that not only allowed you to revisit characters and settings affected by your decisions, but also had the compelling mystery driving it, this is lacking. I also find Daniel to be a very contrived character who drives situations to where the game devs want it to go, and contradictory from scene to scene, making it difficult to gauge conversations and leading misguided decisions. I understand they’re trying to convey anger and frustration within his character, but his lack of understanding makes him a very unsympathetic case. |

With all that said, it is still an interesting game and I don't regret buying it. |
