This fandom blows my mind. I can't even get excited over a poster leak without being called out.

Welcome to Star Wars fandom. "If you're not with us, you're against us" or whatever the quote is.

The bizarre part is that I didn't even say anything about the other movies. I like all of them! I literally just got hyped for the poster and to see what JJ has in store for us.

TLJ features one progressive A-narrative that actually presents character and story momentum.

Unfortunately, TLJ also features two B-narratives that weigh the whole film down and present very little character development. 'Filler' I think it's called. Filler B-plots for characters that Rian Johnson didn't really know what to do with, since there was no room for them in the A-narrative.

When you can remove an hour of the film and lose absolutely nothing of importance to the main storyline in the proces, your script/film has a huge problem.

That new TIE variant here:

Is the same style TIE from the Episode 7 artbook:

Looks like a triangle. The TIEangle?

I'm a fan too. It's our need for salvation that I'm referring to. Explicitly.

Look man, my issue with you is over your condescending attitude. I used hyperbole because I was excited, and you felt the need to call me a child and mock me. I think the truly childish thing is to act like an ass on an internet forum.

Mark Hamill thinks the poster is fan made.

I'm agreeing with some of the reddit comments regarding this:

Quote:
There’s no way that’s fan work. Even if it’s not official(as in the theatrical poster), it contains too many original renders to be fake. It’s most likely a mock up, or as MSW dubbed it a “retail poster.”
Quote:
thats exactly what he would say.
It's not like he's going to break his NDA just to clarify it.

If that mock up poster is entirely fan-made, it's the result of hundreds of hours of work in Photoshop + designing all the new elements (costumes, characters, ships) from scrap.

If so, I applaud whoever did it.

Threepio with that bowcaster is like, "I am fluent in over six million forms of asskicking!"

That’s not quite right, those B-narratives do in fact progress character development. But this isn’t the thread for that.

Although I trust the guy, it still doesn't make it official enough.

Assuming it’s real. All of it.

I think ‘Zorii’ looks reminiscent of Zam Wessel from Ep II. And Rey’s white outfit is very Ep II Padmé.

I’m most intrigued by the old-looking dude amongst the Knights of Ren. Snoke? Plagueis? Palpatine clone? Or someone entirely new? Could be the big bad we need for Kylo/Ben to be redeemed anyway.

Threepio with the bowcaster is hilarious. I wonder who BB-8’s little friend is.

Not enough R2-D2 though, and I really hope he makes it through the film.

I have my doubts about that poster. For one, Threepio's bowcaster is HUGE in his arms. Plus, he's wearing a bandolier similar to Chewie's; I hope that's not a spoiler of some sort. Also, the X-Wing, A-Wing and Y-Wing near the upper right corner are too similar in composition to temp art released for the upcoming Alphabet Squadron book:
