According to Tessa Thompson, a fourth Thor movie has been pitched to Marvel Studios by the filmmaker.

"I heard that a pitch has happened for [another "Thor" film]," she reveals. "I don't know how real that intel is, but I hear that the pitch has happened. I think the idea is Taika [Waititi, who directed 'Ragnarok'] would come back."

I doubt Thor 4 is actually going to happen. I'd be happy if it did, don't get me wrong. But we can more or less accurately guess the next like 3 years worth of MCU films. Maybe not the exact order, but we sort of know what it likely coming. Given that and the fact that Marvel Studios has tended to stick to the trilogy model to this point (with the exception of the Avengers franchise), I just don't see it materializing.

We know that they're working on Black Widow, Eternals, and Shang-Chi for new franchises. They like to introduce 1 new franchise a year at least, so all 3 of these likely happen. Then there is Doctor Strange 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Black Panther 2 which have returning directors attached. But we can also count on Captain Marvel 2 and Ant-Man 3 as likely happening. Peyton Reed has hinted at having ideas for a 3rd Ant-Man already, and while the directors of Captain Marvel 2 may or may not come back, it grossed over a billion. There will be a sequel. We may also add a 3rd Spider-Man film in the Home series if Sony and Marvel Studios extend that deal beyond Far From Home. So that is 9 movies potentially there. This is not even factoring in another Avengers film or whatever they opt to do with the FF or X-Men beyond these films. I just don't see where Thor 4 would come in, honestly.

The current deal includes a third solo Spidey film, so we'll be getting that. The question is will they extend the deal past that, and considering this deal has been nothing but mutually advantageous for both parties, they'd be crazy not to.

We also know that eventually, somewhere down the line we'll be getting Secret Wars. The Russo Brothers will return for that one. Though I imagine that one is at least 5 years off.

Only info I have ever seen indicates the deal for Spidey was 5 films through FFH. That's what Feige said a while back on it when he said he was focusing on Spidey's 5 film arc. I would be glad to be corrected, though.

Sucks that this next MCU phase doesn't have any kind of big ' Avengers ' type film lined up. Just solo films...

For the first phases, we were able to look forward to at least one ' Avengers ' team up type film.

No more Avenger films after Endgame are lined up that I'm aware of.

As for Thor 4...bring it on, they can't kill off the God of Thunder.

Correct, but somewhere between when that deal first started and when it closed they added a third solo Spidey film.

Back in 2015, Sony, who still owns the rights to the character and his entire rogues gallery, cut a deal with Marvel Studios to allow for Peter Parker to appear alongside his fellow Avengers over in the MCU. The contract is set to expire after a third solo movie is made, but according to producer Amy Pascal, Sony is eager to extend the deal beyond that.

I'll obviously watch however many Thor movies they make, but Ragnarok didn't do much for me and I've always thought Thor works better as part of the larger Avengers team than on his own.

Cap is my favorite, so this would please me greatly. But I also doubt that happens. Much like Thor, we also have to see where he ends up in Endgame. I think Thor will come out of this okay, but I'd be worried about Cap or Tony. I have avoided leaks and spoilers, but just by looking it is clear that Cap or Tony are the most likely to die.

Never saw that before. That pleases me because I want them to complete a trilogy for him and hopefully make good on the Sinister Six teases!

I'm all down for a third as well. Tom Holland being Tom Holland let it slip back in 2017 that there would be a third.
