List of PS4 Games with DLC/Updates pre-installed on the disc

If you're like me, you might prefer physical discs so you can have access to the game after servers eventually go down. However, with dlc & updates present in so many modern games, having the physical disc will only get you the day 1 edition of the game, which are often ridden with bugs or are missing DLC. In some cases, games even require a day 1 patch before you can even access the game, such as Call of Duty: WW2. This means once servers go down, the disc will be useless unless you already had the game installed. Additionally, people with slow or no internet at home may prefer to have as a little to download of the game as possible.

The purpose of this list is to list game discs that both do and do not come with dlc and/or updates pre-installed on the disc. Often, Game of the Year or Complete Editions will do both.

Note: These lists are incomplete, if you are unsure of a disc, make sure to do additional research on it before purchasing. Additionally, if I link a European or Asian disc, this is because it is either unavailable in the U.S. or because the Euro/Asian disc is different from the U.S. release. Some titles, like Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition also appear in multiple sections.

Re-released PS4 Games (DLC & updates on disc when applicable)

* Control: Ultimate Edition - All DLC & Updates at time of release on the disc.

* Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - Reissue of N. Sane Trilogy. The original disc released on June 30, 2017; whereas the reissue released June 29, 2018. The reissue includes patch 1.04, and the two bonus levels, pre-installed on disc, unlike the original release disc.

* Kingdom Come Deliverance: Royal Edition - Contains all dlc & update "1.8.2G" on the disc. But the DLC "A Woman's Lot" has to have the game updated and content downloaded before it can be accessed.

* Megadimension Neptunia VIIR - Enhanced edition with VR mode.

* Minecraft: Starter Pack - Update 1.95 is pre-installed on the disc. Includes the following dlcs pre-installed on the disc: LittleBigPlanet Mash-Up, Greek Mythology Mash-Up, Skin Pack 1, & City Texture Pack. All other dlcs are not included. The pack also includes 700 tokens on a download code.

* Monster Hunter World: Iceborne - Iceborne DLC & update 10.00 is on disc. Optional update 10.11 is out and not on the disc, but it mostly contains small fixes and overall not very necessary. Free Guardian Armor bonus must be downloaded.

* Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Collection - All DLC Characters are on the disc, but some DLC skins must be downloaded to obtain. Additionally, some, but not all, single-player game modes require an internet connection to play.

* Nioh: Complete Edition - Violence has been censored in the Japanese release of the game, which also is the only territory to release a physical complete edition.

* Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition - New disc that has the new characters and maps, but some of the bonus downloadable content (10 lootboxes, and some characters skins) are on a DLC voucher. Game is 99% multiplayer, with only single-player mode being training (Which requires an online connection.)

* Payday 2: The Big Score - Includes 10 premium dlcs & 20 free dlcs pre-installed on the disc including:

• The Butcher's Mod Pack
• The Butcher's BBQ Pack
• The Butcher's Western Pack
• The Alesso Heist
• The Golden Grin Casino Heist
• The Sokol Character Pack
• The Gage Ninja Pack
• The Yakuza Character Pack
• The Gage Chivalry Pack
• The Point Break Heists

Does not include the Scarface , Goat Simulator, & John Wick DLC, possibly missing others as well (will update when I found out the exact details).

* Resident Evil 7: Biohazard - All DLCs are on the disc (End of Zoe, Banned Footage Vol. 1 & 2) EXCEPT for the free "Not a Hero" DLC.

* Rocket League: Ultimate Edition - Includes some dlc, not all, on the disc. Contains Update 1.42 pre-installed on disc, subsequent updates will have to be downloaded. DLC included with this release can be found here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQgSmNi79k4]

* Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition - Patch 2.00, digital soundtrack, & DLC pre-installed on the disc.

* The Sims 4 + Island Living Bundle - Includes Island Living DLC & Update 1.18 on the disc.

* Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition - Includes the Arcade update on the disc (Version 2.00), however the dlc fighters included are a one-time voucher code. Requires internet connection or a patch (not sure which, if you install the disc offline & download no patches, it is inaccessible) to play story mode; Arcade can be played offline straight off the disc.

* Street Fighter V: Champion Edition - Includes update 3.00 on the disc, however the dlc fighters are included on a voucher code and must be downloaded over the internet, just like the previous release.

* Train Sim World 2020: Collector's Edition - Update version 1.22 & all dlc on disc

* The Walking Dead: A Telltale Series Collection - Includes all 19 episodes from Seasons 1-3, 400 Days, and Michonne.

* The Walking Dead: The Telltare Series Definitive Edition - Includes Seasons 1-4, 400 Days, and Michonne.

* Watch Dogs Complete Edition - PS4 exclusive missions, white hat hacker outfit, and R33-B gun are not on disk.

* Everspace: Stellar Edition - Upcoming Re-release of the game by a new company after the Limited Run release. Exact disc content is unknown at this time.

* Game Tengoku CrusinMix Special - Includes the 3 DLC Packs that are also on the PSN Store. Paradise Box Edition includes those 3 plus an added DLC only available in Japan and in the Paradise Box.

* JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Eyes Of Heaven - Initially released in Japan. Digital only in America, but physical copy elsewhere. (U.S. digital version includes all DLC without having a separate download).

* Trine: Ultimate Collection - Trine 1-3 come with updates on the disc. Trine 4 has a patch.

* Quantic Dream Collection - Heavy Rain & Beyond Two Souls only, Detroit: Become Human is the same launch disc.

* Burnout Paradise - Launched with a major bug causing game crashes and corrupting save files. I believe this was later patched, but be aware the disc version will contain this bug if you do not update.

Reissued Game Discs with new updates, but the same packaging

Days Gone has a new disc reprint with important several updates on it, but features the same packaging & disc design as the original release. The only way to tell them apart is by installing the disc to a ps4 with internet offline or automatic updates disabled to see which version you have.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been reissued by Activision with all content on disc. The previous disc release did not include the 2nd and 3rd game on the disc, they had to be patched in. The new and old release have identical box art. Even though the re-release has all patches on the disc, the box will still state "Required Content Download". The only way to distinguish between the new and old disc is the disc itself. The new disc states "©2018, 2019" on it beneath the ESRB rating; the old disc states "©2018" only.

* Batman: Arkham Knight - Game of the Year Edition - All DLC content is included on a region B download code except the Earth 2 skin, which must be bought separately.

* Destiny - various re-releases of Destiny 1 are merely the same disc from its launch + DLC vouchers.

* Doom Slayers Collection - Doom 4 is the same launch disc, Doom 1-3 are included as digital codes, not on a disc.

* Dragon Age Inquisition: Game of the Year Edition - same disc content as the original release + a DLC voucher to download the rest.

* Dragon Quest Builders 2 - comes with a code to download a Stackable Slime recipe.

* Call of Duty: WWII - Day 1 Patch must be downloaded in order to access any content on the disc, including campaign.

* Spyro: Reignited Trilogy - With the initial disc pressing, only the first game in the trilogy is on the disc, the second & third games must be downloaded over the internet. This disc was later reprinted with all three games on the disc, but these copies have identical cases and can only be told apart by looking at numbers on the disc itself, check first post in the thread for details.

* Tony Hawk Pro Skater's 5 - Only the game's tutorial is accessible without any updates.

Single Player games or modes that REQUIRE constant internet connection to play. (Once servers go down, these games' single player modes will no longer be playable)

The Hitman trilogy can be technically be played offline, however all progression is tied to an internet connection. This includes new weapons, disguises, starting points, leveling, etc; & is one of the major features of the games, allowing for replayability. An offline version of the games will be a significantly more empty experience in comparison. Hitman: Definitive is missing the last episode on the disc.

Thanks, like you said, it's really annoying when they re-release the same disc with a code, and advertise it as a complete edition. I'm more than willing to re-buy the game if the stuff is on the disc, but I've been burned a few times with vouchers. At that point, might as well have just bought the dlc on the ps store.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Eyes Of Heaven - just like One Piece Digital only in America but physical copy elsewhere. (Not 100% certain but the Creators were against DLC but the U.S. digital version includes all DLC without having a separate download).

Gravity Rush Remastered PS Vita’s DLC included but can still earn the DLC trophies. Limited physical release in America and not cheap or easy to find. Japanese version is easier to get.

Dead Or Alive 5 Last Round has a lot of stuff that is DLC in the PS3 versions even though yes there is still a lot that you still need to buy.

Shining Resonance Refrain has all 150+ PS3 versions DLC.

That’s how I found out by buying it recently just to find out that the game shut down long before I even bought it. Bought 2 copies because they were cheap but after finding out I decided that I could use the cases as spares for if I have a damaged case or since they’re almost Blu-ray size I could also use them for that too or just anything that needs a case for a disc.

Some errors in the third post:

Call of Duty: Black Ops III's single-player campaign is playable off the disc, it is also playable via LAN. Split-screen co-op requires a patch.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is playable off the disc (but I've heard it's drastically different with a patch).

The Hitman games do not require an internet connection to play the main campaign (more details in spoiler).

I'll make those changes, except I've heard otherwise about Tony Hawk 5 on several different sites. I do remember reading the PS3 version shipped out later, and that had all the levels, but the ps4 version didn't. Is that what you're perhaps thinking of?

I barely played the game but I thought I got past the tutorial. I could be wrong but I'm not going to worry about it either way because it's a terrible game and I have no intention of ever playing it again.

Your wording on Call of Duty: Black Ops III is still wrong. The game is playable in single-player and in co-op via LAN without a patch. Only split-screen co-op requires a patch. Personally I don't think that it should be included on the list at all.
