I've given it a 4/5, as it satisfies being the end, but something is lacking to make it an all time great finale.

3/5. Technically competent, and I enjoyed 2-3 specific scenes, but there's no doubt that this was hurried along (both episode and season) to a conclusion for the sake of concluding. Some of the plot holes are big enough to drive a Dothraki horde through.

I rated it 1/5 based on how i feel it ended as a series. Technically as others have said there's moments of brilliance in the editing, cinematography and score, but the actual content and writing, pace etc. for the finale of the series has been very disappointing to me as a fan. Even more so having waited like 18 months.

I did 3/5. I think if they had another season to play with it would have been a lot better. As it is, it's just too rushed and out if left field.
That's one of my biggest questions with the finale - wth happened to them? They arent going to go quietly into the sunset, and they arent going to back across the sea. Are they just pillaging the countryside now? |

I gave it a generous 3 stars, quiet and subdued ending, a lot of beautiful imagery and a fitting send off to the characters, but a very unsatisfying conclusion to the story in terms of loose ends and underutilised plot points, along with a very rushed pace. It was never going to be a completely winning conclusion in any capacity, but it did feel like the sparknotes of the final novel over a fleshed out conclusion, and it the final episode was strangely unengaging on an emotional level.

I'll say 4 stars. I have no problems with any decisions on the directions of any of the characters. I like where all the characters ended up and all the events we had, but the season did feel slightly rushed and probably could have used an additional episode placed between eps. 4 & 5, and another one in between eps. 5 & 6, just to give it more of smoother progression.

If things had happened as they should have, given the culture, the Dothraki would have celebrated Jon Snow as their new Khal, and protected him from the Unsullied's plan to capture him. The finale would have played out much differently if the Dothraki weren't considered as nothing more than flashy extras during the episode. They mattered, and we would have gotten a better finale by respecting the people that uplifted Daenerys in the first place.

You bolded "as they should have", so when I say that, I mean "with respect to the previously established norms of Dothraki culture." That's what matters here. Whoever beats the previous Khal/Khaleesi becomes the new one. It's that simple. Jon Snow is the Khal, and yet....nothing in the finale about that. Why not? That would have kept Jon from being captured by the Unsullied almost for sure.

Also, it would have had to have transpired across the span of at least one entire episode, and that seems to be the common complaint -- there just wasn't enough time to develop all the events smoothly enough to satisfy everyone, considering the limitation of episodes. |

I gave 4/5.
Didn't mind the end or the major deaths minus ending to Night King vs Winterfell. In the end, stories progressed well but overall felt to fast in season progression, when compared to previous seasons. If it was full 10 episodes season then the extra episodes would of helped pad out the fast pace to more normal pacing. Overall, i enjoyed the season but could of been better. |

I recognize that we've been dealing with increased budgets per episode, but it's not like HBO wasn't going to make the money back even if they did ten episodes per season. |
