I usually don't care about Call of Duty, but I'm looking forward to this. The naming of the game is going to be problematic in the future (good luck trying to find anything on the original Modern Warfare or its sequels). I think that's probably the idea, though.

Im hoping you don't have to be online also just to play the campaign like CoD: WWII.

Not to mention the fact that PC players get a solid 60FPS at a minimum, with a large number of players running at 144 these days. So unless there is some wicked heavy aim-assist involved on the console end, there is simply no contest between a console player and a PC player, and even then it will be virtually impossible to create a balanced match-up.
As for what I wrote here, there is a rumor going around that this game might support "Input Matchmaking" similar to the way Fortnite does it. I am not sure if it's true, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but based on this post on PCGamesN which links to this article on Forbes, it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume this feature will be implemented. It would obviously make a lot more sense that way, for it would be fair, balanced and much more enjoyable for controller users.

That said, there is no way to compensate for the FPS discrepancy between consoles & PCs so we'll have to see how that works out. The difference between 30 and 60 is huge, but the jump from 60 to 144 is even bigger and far more noticeable, especially in First Person Shooters. I'm quite curious to see what happens with this.

It be nice if Activision would separate single player & multiplayer by releasing them.. well... separately.

Thats literally the same case with any game that reuses a title. Its not that hard to search and find info on past games.

At least match making is input based. So you will be pooled with players using the same controller type as you. So if you are playing with a controller you wont get matched against someone using keyboard and mouse just like fortnight.

Call of Duty is basically a shooter version of madden. Same exact experience every year, but diehards have to own them all regardless.

I'll pass since it's mostly for people to play online matches, but I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy it so good on them I guess. Different strokes.

I've moaned more than anyone about Call of Duty since they went all futuristic. This game isn't like that though. It's finally back to the basics and more polished. I can't wait to play with old heads again.

Also They need to also stop letting Treyarch make games because back in the day Infinity Ward/ Activision were always the better releases.

COD4 was my intro to the franchise, and I dropped off somewhere along the lines years ago. I'm hoping they nail this one, because I'm more than ready to hop back in. I know I'll be absolute shit online having not played in years, but I've made peace with it.

I'm all in on this, haven't bought a CoD on release since....well as long as I can remember. With BFv turning to utter tripe this will hopefully fill the void until EA and DICE pull their heads out of their own asses and release a polished, finished, decent BF again

I'm all in on this as well. Haven't gotten into COD multiplayer since Modern Warfare 2. I'm expecting this will replace BFV as my main multiplayer game thanks to its new engine, 40-100 person matches, and of course its modern setting (hint, hint, DICE).

Game trailer looks really good.

I noticed that one of the assault rifles had dual aiming sights on it. The player tilted the rifle and used the other sight to aim and shoot with. I’ve never seen that before.
