Terminator: Resistance (December,3 2019)

UK video game publisher Reef Entertainment and developer Teyon have announced Terminator: Resistance for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC!

The game, which will feature an original story based on the film rights for The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, will be released on November 15 2019 in Europe & Australia and December 3 2019 in North America. Resistance takes place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, nearly 30 years after Judgment Day, and “expands upon the Future War glimpsed at in the iconic films from James Cameron”.

The player assumes the role of Jacob Rivers, a soldier in the Resistance Pacific Division. Despite the fact that Jacob is just a private, he soon discovers that he’s been targeted by the latest threat from Skynet and marked for termination. It’s up to you to smash Skynet’s Defence Grid and help decide the fate of mankind in the war against the machines.

Resistance will also feature a level progression feature where you enhance your skills through completing story missions to rise through the ranks of the Resistance, as well as side-quests to help your friends. Speaking of which, you’ll have to protect survivors, whose fates will determine just what kind of ending you receive.

Of course, you’ll face off against the iconic T-800, Hunter Killers and more in your battle for survival.

Has anyone actually SEEN the CV for Teyon Games? They are one of the crappiest Polish games development studios on the planet, having created a Rambo video game so bad that it was pulled from sale on Steam! These guys make Avalanche Studios look like ID Software!

Unfortunately the quality of that trailer shows you how poor that game looks. The voic3 acting was cheap as hell sounding, the little cuts were trying to ape Battlefield and CoD trailers. The title cards were so cheap and blended with the music of the movies and themes used cheaply too.

Terminator as a video game is an incredibly interesting concept, but do you know who would probably do it justice? A dev with experience in FPS games with a campaign. Hell, Insomniac did a great job with Resistance and that was the first divergence from their typical platform games.

This game looks really bad and cheap. The premise is fine, but the execution looks poor.

I’m a huge T fan from 84 & 91 but other than the T-800 models in this game, (I like) I don’t think this will be anything special. I’d like to see a big studio tackle this franchise with a huge overpriced budget & 5 years of development time but that’s just me dreaming in today’s era.

Imagine Ubisoft using the Dunia engine as used in the Far Cry series to make a Terminator game in the same style of the FC franchise. That would be awesome...

Well I'm a huge Terminator fan and I've seen the storyline here praised, so I got it. Will play as soon as I'm done with my Days Gone survival mode playthrough. There surprisingly is no patch though, not even a Day 1. Haven't seen that on a disc based game in a long time now.

The low budget shows and a low budget game being priced the same as a big budget AAA game was a mistake on their part that will hurt sales but the gameplay is indeed a pleasant surprise.

I'm liking it so far, about halfway through I think. You may have to dial your expectations back by a generation but the gameplay is pretty fun.

Almost done now, and I agree with the user reviews. It's a pretty good game. Yes it's like PS3+ graphics wise. But it has pretty good game and a cool story. In movie form I think it would be the kind of thing a lot of Terminator fans would have wanted after T2. It is definitely a much better game than Terminator Salvation.

My only real complaint is the framerate issues in the last few levels. I don't think it should have such bad framerate issues on the Pro given the simplistic graphics. Also, in fairness, I think most people would find the $60 way overpriced, although I am fine with 60 for this.

Also, it finally did get a patch last night, the first one, wow.

Thanks for the review. Sounds interesting. I actually bought Terminator Salvation on the 360 way back when, and enjoyed that game despite its smaller levels. It reminded me of Fallout at times with the broken city.

It had a small run at the replicators. Digital download is the easiest way to get it.
