We just watched Maleficent 2 in 3D and it looked amazing super clear with great depth. My only complaint is some of the dark scenes even though they were super clear were very very dark. We had a hard time making some of it out. I went back and rewatched those scenes on the 2D and they weren't half as dark. I had the same problem with Fantastic Beasts 2 and noticed no one else in the forum had that issues so I'm thinking I need to recalibrate my projector.
Everything else looked great...just night scenes are so dark you really almost cannot make anything out. I changed the one setting from 3D THX to 3D Cinema and that did seem to help out a very small bit. If I change the brightness though it just washes out the film...it really doesn't help make a dark scene more viewable. 2D movies look fine it just seems to be the 3D. I know 3D is always going to be darker due to the glasses but some of it is almost unwatchable. And it is only on night scenes that we have a problem. So I'm asking for follow 3D lovers that use an EPSON 5030UB to let me know what your settings are for your 3D viewing. Thanks everyone. |
