A remake of the 1994 first-person action game classic is in the works, and a free pre-alpha playable demo is on Steam and GOG. Estimate 2017 release. The demo shows the game to be pretty faithful to the original.

Without System Shock, there would be no Bioshock, Dead Space, Doom 3, and a whole slew of other horror sci-fi games.

Better late than never? This finally has a release date and is now up for pre-order. August 31st 2021. There's also a demo available to try.
