Agreed; I very much enjoyed that game and like the art style used for it. Shame that we never got a follow up.

Hmm, SoT is one of the most overrated games ever. It's actually pretty mediocore, IMO. Warrior Within was absolutely sensational, though.

The graphics look crap but the colours are nice, I suppose. The Prince's face is awful and changes in every scene.

They could have just done a remaster of the original SoT trilogy (but a better job than that awful glitchy PS3 mess).

I feel like with PoP being up in the air they could have gone in 2 ways:

# 1: Remake the original 3 games in 3D and continue that branding.
Reimagine the first 2 games fully in 3D and use PoP 3D only as a baseline to create something that's only mostly inspired by it, but actually good. Gameplay of all 3 would be split up into non-linear levels and utilise a combination of the best moves and mechanics of the series, obviously minus any sand powers. Retain the same branding and universe, but stay episodic and open ended. Then could come Prince of Persia: 4.

# 2: Remaster the original Sands of Time trilogy as a Definitive Edition.
Take the original PC code of the Sands of Time trilogy, faithfully recreate nice 4K textures, refine character models, introduce an improved lighting system and shadow system, implement shaders and present it in 4K 60FPS, advertised as the definitive way to experience the SoT trilogy. So it would be the same core games, but with actual heart put into finessing the existing assets. I think this would have achieved a far better reception, tbh. Might have been criticised for being lazy, but there's so much more room for artistic error with remakes.


...But no we get this weird kickstarter-looking remake of only the first game in a trilogy, even though other series' have had their entire trilogies remade. Like wtf. Ok...

N Sane Trilogy was a faithful 1:1 remake from the ground up, not a remaster (basically an enhanced port) of literally PS1 code, so that kind of remake is exactly what you are getting here, just only for the first game, weirdly.

The original Prince of Persia game featured some next level animation for video games on PC back in the 80s. A very tough game that as a tiny kid, I didn't complete the ending for on the Amiga 2000.

Here's the full game being played Sands of Time that they recreated for the PS4 with similar graphics to the original, which seems kind of pointless, since they could have potentially just remastered the original game and been done with it.

the original and its remake are the only PoP games I've played, but never managed to beat them. I got pretty close on the ps3, but I remember being distracted by a big release and never went back

Yes because the PS5 will be backwards compatible. Every PS4 game released going forward is required to work on the PS5 by Sony

As long as it plays well, I’ll grab this. I absolutely loved this game on the original Xbox, which is where I played it. Having the original voice actors helps a lot, too. This was one of my favorite games from that era.

Yeah it's silly that it was intentionally made to look like this, but I'm still picking it up to have a somewhat modernization of this fantastic game on current gen consoles.

It's just annoying that I'll have to buy it twice to get the Amazon UK exclusive DLC swords and the GAME UK exclusive DLC swords.

Will the ps store offer refunds,since yesterday it was announced that the game has been delayed indefinitely? Do I need to contact them,or will they automatically refund in the next few days?? I mean the developers said DELAYED INDEFINITELY. Which means it wont be coming out for at least 6 months.
