At the theater:
Grand Prix (1966) 16 viewings. I was 12 years old and went to see it every time I could scrape enough pennies together. I would sit in the front row and allow that 70mm widescreen image envelope me. The racing scenes were fantastic! The views from the in-car cameras and made me feel like I was driving the cars. Plot? Who cared. I was in it for those visceral visual thrills. I can't wait for the BD release. It's been on Warner's 2008 list forever, but it doesn't look like it will make it. I'm hoping for early in 2009.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) 12 viewings. I was 14 years old and this film amazed me. Those magnificent models, the attention to detail, the special effects -- all made space travel seem so real. Remmber that this was in the hetday of the space race. It was only six months earlier that the first unmanned test flight of the Saturn-V moon rocket had taken place. No I didn't understand that ending at first. But a friend and I read the book and discussed it until we had fleshed out the metaphors, the meaning, and the vision Clarke and Kubrick were communicating. After that, the movie was all the more satisfying! I tried to attend more showings, but it just wasn't in my area very long.

The Great Escape (1963) Four and one-half viewings. I was 9 years old when this hit the thraters. My best friend and I saw it at the local movie house one Saturday. From the early matinee on, we loved it so much we stayed for the next showing, and the next -- until our mothers came in looking for us. We had missed dinners and still not showed up at home! Much drama ensued. Still, we went back and sat through two more showings the next weekend.

As an adult with HBO/Cinamax, TBS etc. I can't count the multiple viewings of bad movies I've sat through! What with the "anything when you're bored" syndrome, there's no telling what I've seen many, many times.

Like many other on this thread I would have to say Star Wars. I could'nt possibly state how many times I've watched it but 30+ years since I first saw it, that must be a lot. I am kinda drawn to Serenity on blu quiet a few times now, not too sure why though
