From childhood: Terminator 2 (broke into my old man's DVD collection when I was about eight and saw this. As a kid I just loved it for the action but as I got older showing John's attachment to the T-800 and seeing Sarah's struggle with it's nature as well as the fight to stop Judgment Day made it a timeless watch for me.)
From the ol' teenage years: Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (seeing Kirk, Scotty, and McCoy standing on the cliff as the Enterprise went into Genesis made my Star Trek fandom a mainstay as that showed such great character development from the TV show and the first two movies) From the adult years: The Godfather (I and II). The middle part of the Francis Ford Coppola trifecta (for me that's the Conversation, these, then Apocalypse), the development of Michael Corleone from a sort of distant background character at his sister's wedding to steady player bribing senators as well as watching his dissolving marriage with Kay was what made me recognize cinema not as just popcorn fare entertainment but as an art form that like books or video games can bestow wisdom and evoke inspiration. |

Star Wars A New Hope
Star Wars Return of the Jedi Those two films I watch the most in my life time. For horror, The Shining 1981, George A Romero's Day of the Dead. Fantasy, The Dark Crystal is cool. For Sci-Fi TV shows, Terrahawks I'll watch each week. Those puppets are incredible to watch. I was going to list other genres, but don't have time at the moment. Good thread idea though. |

Terminator 2 was almost a weekly watch from fairly early childhood til I was a teen. So probably that or Commando tie for 1/2
Jurassic Park and Lost World JP tie for 3/4 Fight Club and Akira for 5/6 The Minions films and the Grinch might top all since my son loves them. |
