What do I found boring? Well, here are 2 things which can be boring for me.

1. Movies in which the main character is in "danger" but not really.

Father Merrin in The Exorcist: The Beginning is meant to be in some very intense situation at the end of the movie .... but it's a prequel, therefore you know the character will make it through.

Yes, I know movies are movies ... but putting a character into danger when ultimately the character will make it through (the movie is meant to be a prequel) leaves me bored.

2. When the main character is invincible.

In The Matrix Reloaded there are several scenes in which it is apparent that Neo can not be hurt. The issue here is that there are so many scenes in which he can not be hurt that I lost interest. I haven't even seen the third Matrix movie because of how boring I felt the second one was. I even fell asleep in the movie theater because there was no real threat for Neo.

Movies that have a lot of repetition of the same exact point are boring. Of course, there is a fine line, because some repetition works and can help with a point. Case in point: in comedies that repetition can be part of the joke.

In The Matrix Reloaded the repetition of showing Neo being invincible caused me to sleep.

That's the way I felt in World War Z. Pitt, being the main and only character who gets any kind of presence, you knew he was gonna make it through the film in one piece, so I never felt any kind of dread. This is to say nothing of everything just conveniently happening literally as soon as he winds up in location X throughout the entirety of the film and

[Show spoiler]him getting zombie blood in his mouth (offsceen, of course, because, PG-13) and not turning, WTF?

Although you're not missing anything by skipping out on the 3rd Matrix film because Revolutions is worse than Reloaded. POS.

Yep. It had the makings of an epic, "big", all universe sci fi film and turned into some sappy family drama. So typical of sci-fi these days. They have big ideas and then it devolves into daddy/kiddie issues or lifetime network level family crap. BARF.

Many films listed so far in this thread I've enjoyed very much, and don't find them boring at all. (Solaris, The Irishman, The New World, Youth, many of them. Even Jeanne Dielmann.)

I tend to get crushingly bored very quickly by constant action, ironically. Movies with 20 minute action scenes, overly drawn out climactic scenes, etc. . Almost all of the big franchises bore me and I have no interest, at all.

I'm exactly the same. Long fight scenes or set pieces just draaaag. I find my eyes floating down towards the bottom of the screen and my brain willing the action to end.

To this end the most boring films I've seen are:

The Avengers (It is basically just the same as watching 2 people play a fighty video game for 100 minutes)
Hacksaw Ridge (terrible 2nd rate superhero movie dressed up as a war movie. Don't care if it's a true story, doesn't make the film any less boring)
The Kingsman (just boring action and terrible comedy. Probably the worst film I've ever seen)
