"Flipped" from 2010 was a great coming-of-age movie I've seen recently and can recommend if one is not tired of such movies.

Thelma. A 2017 Norwegian film with a kind of hypnotic flow to it. Excellent drama about a young girl struggling with religion, sexuality, & young adulthood. Oh, & she can set people on fire & teleport them inadvertently. Has become one of my Top 100 films.

Control. A wildly entertaining 2003 Hungarian film, replete with comedy, mystery, & the occasional light touch of drama.

Another Earth. An indie sci-fi melodrama from 2011 with a great many ideas on its mind. Stars Tom Cruise’s cousin. Heartfelt & thoughtful.

The Big Empty (2003). One of those small films with inexplicably recognisable casts - Jon Favreau is joined in the big empty of the California desert by Rachael Leigh Cook, Sean Bean, Darryl Hannah, Kelsey Grammer, Bud Cort, Adam Beach, Joey Lauren Adams, Bill Briscoe, & Jon Gries. A compelling comedic mystery with a touch of Fargo to it.
