Vudu SD titles are now HD

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this but when I view my Vudu movies in purchase order I have a ton of older titles at the top. After looking over them it looks like any SD movies I had in Vudu that are MA titles are now added to my collection again but now as HD! Examples are I had two random Harry Potter titles in SD from a dvd, I kept telling myself I needed to get around to doing d2d so that they were in HD but now I guess I don’t have to! Anyone else seeing this?

This has been noticed and talked about in a couple separate threads already (D2D thread and the Digital Deals (Vudu) thread).

The basic idea is that an apparent re-sync happened, several titles that were obtained SD in Vudu or FN or wherever would play HD in MA, and have apparently been upgraded from that HD status in MA to Vudu HD (MA only, no change to the UV status of these).

Probably was a glitch, but hopefully it will stick.

I had all of these movies in SD and just a couple of days ago they appeared in my most recent purchases in HD. I thought it had something to do with me finally linking iTunes to MA.

See, same thing happened to me. I had a promotional comedy bundle that included Austin Powers, Ed, Kung Pow, and Mr. Deeds, and I think a day or two I looked and Ed, Kung Pow and Mr. Deeds appeared as separate purchases in HD. And I see now Horrible Bosses 2 is HD as well now that I see it on someone else's list. I checked.

I had 30+ titles upgrade from SD to HDZ; all of them were from SD bundle codes I bought cheap on this forum or were SD titles given when you signed up for an account.

I've only had 1 movie upgrade, Blade II.

I have a several others that I got as freebies from Flixster or Vudu from signup promotions or some other promotion. I have a couple from Amazon back when their service was called Instant Video or Unboxed. And a few from DVD codes redeemed elsewhere.

From what we’ve gathered from our collective upgrades:

Redemptions and freebies from anything other than Vudu do not get upgraded.

Disc to Digital conversions do not get upgraded.

Only direct freebies from Vudu do.

I noticed Disc to Digital movies didn't upgrade. I do have 2 SD movies that I redeemed codes for that haven't upgraded like What If and The Last Witch Hunter.

The only stuff I had in SD was a bundle I got free when I first signed up for Vudu years ago, they all upgraded except Lethal Weapon (director's cut).
