Mad Max 2 4K and Mad Max 3 4K - Recall in Aus?

Adelaide JB stores have the reissues in stock, since March 16th.

Got mine today. I'm no audio expert, but the original theatrical audio sounded all good to me. The only way to watch the film, imo.

If only Pappagallo's speech wasn't edited, and the transitions / wipes weren't scrubbed clean, this would be incredible. As is, it's still very good.

The speech is only edited compared to the VHS, which can be considered an "Extended cut". Pretty sure it was only ever extended on the Aussie VHS too, that said they could have included it as a bonus feature.

The Pappagallo speech is overlong and the dialogue corny, and probably edited for good reason, but growing up on that 1983 WB Australian videotape rental release (and the TV Cut) in the '80s, I miss it.

Any deleted scenes would be good - even a 4:3 compilation edit, using the TV Cut, would be appreciated.

Perfectly understandable. Perhaps we'll see the disc silently appear if the current allocation sells out and Roadshow decide to do another print run.

The 5.1 and 2.0 lossy audio is downmixed from the Atmos. Although it's apparently nowhere near as noticeable as it was on Mad Max 2 because they didn't introduce any new effects in the Atmos mix. The remastered disc has both tracks in their original form and lossless, but it's only available in the OS box sets.

Did the original ever get the UHD treatment in Oz? I assumed it did but now can't find it. I also note it's distributed by Kennedy Miller, unlike the rest.

It did not. You can import a boxset with all three films or you can alternatively order the solo Max Max release from Kino Lorber.
