This one belongs in a "comments out of context" thread.

The Brazilian BD is cheap at the moment ~US $18 , but you need a Brazilian ID number to order it from anywhere. Only way is to get a Brazilian to order it for you and reship it on.

We are looking at $200+ dollars on ebay now, seriously needs a release, those prices are ridiculous.

Splash really has not been well treated on the home video format.
You are better off with the 25th anniversary DVD. The print is not that amazing, but sure is better than the Blu-ray! That looks like a DVD upscale with artificial sharpening and lots of DNR.
Splash always had an authentic 35*mm look and the original film grain should be retained.
Disney + is streaming a censored version with slightly more detail and preserved natural looking film grain so I do think it is remastered, at least for streaming. It looks gorgeous but the fur butt and cropped shots are ridiculous. To think Touchstone pictures was founded because of this film in the first place...

Splash has so much potential to shine on home video, not to mention the cut footage with the sea hag and other deleted scenes.
It's so frustrating being one of my most beloved films and being a fan of the home video format.
Will we ever see the light of day of a proper Blu-ray release or even a 4k release like Disney did with Hocus pocus and Home alone?

Anyone know what this is? I assume a bootleg?

$60 for a bootleg? He has already sold 2 copies! This isn't good for our hobby. Please report him!

Yeah, no, you are not better off with the DVD. It's an older master but it's not that bad.

https://whatsondisneyplus.com/splash...-4k-on-disney/

An uncensored 4K transfer is allegedly now available on Disney+.
