Not too surprised they did this. They previously did double packs for Dragon Ball Z Kai (up to a Part 5 + Part 6 double pack), Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball (shrinkwrapped together). FUNimation has done so many Walmart exclusives.

So $180 for the Wal-Mart sets? Yikes. The steelbook set was cheaper at around $160 and even the single sets during Black Friday and Xmas as a complete bundle through Funimation's site came out to $130.

In a few months the Steelbook Set will probably cost more than buying all 10 Parts individually. It’s already that way on eBay with the Sealed copies even though needless to say nobody is buying them at $300 that some people are asking for the sealed copies because it is ridiculous to spend that much.

Wife told me they are only worth that much if I'm willing to sell. I bought the steel books because they were cheap and my son enjoyed the series.

Steelbooks will end up being the best deal for the whole series unless another cheaper complete set comes out, especially if you preordered the set via rightstuf. My only gripe is that it’s somehow bigger than if I had bought the regular sets instead

The size was the main reason why I didn't bite on the steelbook set. After I saw it contained all that extra padding in-between the books like the Best Buy exclusive steelbook sets for movie trilogies, I figured it would mess up the lack of shelf space I had. I'm still holding out for a complete set.

Dragonball Super Manga Continues With A Prequel To The Super Hero Movie Followed By A Retelling Of Super Hero

The January 2023 issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine announced on Monday that Toyotarō's Dragon Ball Super manga will resume with a new arc in the magazine's February 2023 issue, which Shueisha will publish on December 21.

The new arc will feature teen Goten and Trunks as superheroes, and will tell a prequel story for the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero film, before moving on to an adaptation of the film itself.

Toyotarō launched the manga in V Jump in June 2015 as an adaptation of the Dragon Ball Super anime, though the manga diverges from the anime in several ways. The manga announced it would take a break "to prepare for the next arc," after publishing its 87th chapter on August 19. Shueisha published the 19th volume in Japan on August 4.

Viz Media is publishing the manga online as it debuts in Japan, and will publish the 17th compiled volume (pictured right) on December 6.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the second anime film in the Dragon Ball Super franchise. The film opened in Japan on June 11 after a delay due to the Toei Animation hack in March. The film was originally slated to open in Japan on April 22.

The film sold about 498,000 tickets for about 670 million yen (about US$4.99 million) in its first two days. The film has earned a cumulative total of 2,442,861,650 yen (about US$18.11 million) as of August 7.

The film premiered in the U.S. on August 19. The film earned US$21,124,049 to top its opening weekend in North America. The first weekend box office alone already made it the #6 highest-grossing anime film ever at the U.S. box office. The film has also opened in Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Ireland, Chile, and other countries outside the United States with US$12.3 million (about 1.7 billion yen).

im okay with this. We have the manga returning on dec 20th. A web anime on the way and then the weekly anime tv series returning. One of these anime, or both, are returning next year. A new film is also in the works. The future is strong.

Uptick in clarity is nice over the regular 1080p version, but it does reveal just how intense the aliasing can be in this film. Will provide direct caps when my new drive arrives.

As I mentioned yesterday, Toei were made aware of the issue and are looking into it. I hope they'll release replacement discs.

It happens due to using the wrong white point. Converting it from DCI (theatre) to D65 (home display) entirely fixes it.
