What exactly is the digital art gallery included on several volumes? just random screenshots from the series, or actual concept art during development of the series?

While I do like the fact that it gives Yoshihiro a lot more breathing room between each chapter, but can’t help but think that the series just needs to be wrapped up and have him retire with having him focus on himself and his health.

I believe he should get to do what he wants to do as an artist and creator and if that means a few chapters every few months or a year then good for him and good on Jump for letting him do as he wishes in their magazine. There's no rush, no hurry, when he is done he is done. Well wishes and good vibes for Togashi always.

Every time I see a new post in this thread I end up having false hope that its an announcement that someone finally license rescued the 1999 series or finally doing a remaster for it.

The 1999 series is looking unlikely because it may not even be available for licensing anymore. Sometimes when a new version of something comes along even if the production committee is entirely different, the old version is no longer available for licensing.

I’ve also heard the ‘99 series was edited on video and would be an unlikely candidate for a remaster. If it is ever available to be licensed again in the future, it’ll probably be SD-BD or bust.

its so sad how viz completely dropped the ball with the 99 license when they had it. didn't even bother licensing all the OP and EDs let alone touching the OVAs. at this rate the Yorknew OVAs will never be localized.
