I don't dread if I see his name attached to a project anymore.

I didn't see The Phantom of the Open but I did see the other two and thought he did a good job in both. He had much more screen time in The Outfit and since not a lot happens in the film it's the acting that keeps you interested. Rylance is not really on my radar but I felt he was very competent in the two films I saw.

I feel silly asking, and I'm sure it's been asked before, but how gory is the film itself? I'm thinking of going to see it, but I don't wanna be tooooo grossed out. I'm fine with blood and chopping and stuff, but if there's any peeling or ripping (especially of skin or nails), that's generally when I get squeamish. I've heard there's some graphic noises and stuff, so I'm preparing my Misophonia, but how's the rest of it? What's it most comparable to?

I think there’s only about four scenes of gory violence in it, most of which you can anticipate coming (most of it is only

). From what you’ve said, I think the only scene that will cause any problems is very early on

[Show spoiler]at a sleepover where a finger gets bitten and you see the skin tear off around the finger, it’s very brief and appears to happen quite abruptly but probably lasts all off 2 seconds.

It’s certainly not as gross as Raw, so if you can handle that one you should be ok. I would describe it as a gore film, and it doesn’t have any nasty sudden tricks to catch you off guard so you know when to look away.

My theatre is moving this to one showing a night this weekend. I don't think it did that bad? There were about 10-15 people both times I went.

I actually caught a showing yesterday, and yeah, apart from that opening scene (which they show the lead-up to in the trailers, so I could see it coming), it really wasn't that bad. Even Walking Dead was more directly gruesome and gory.

I liked it, all in all. Definitely more of a love story as many have said, and I thought they had good chemistry. The cannibalism is definitely more of a metaphor, but I like that it was never heavy-handed on what it was a metaphor for- you could kind of make up your own mind (even if there is a most obvious answer). Mark Rylance kills it (no pun intended) too, but he's always dependable as the weirdo. It did feel a little long, but I can't really think of much to cut. As a midwesterner myself, some of those nature shots really made me miss my old stomping grounds. Luca does love his long, quiet ending shots.

Saw this last night. It was entertaining. The scene around the campfire was so disturbing. The actor with long hair was such a good choice for the role. Not sure

[Show spoiler]if he actually intended to eat them but it was still creepy seeing him run after the truck screaming.

The movie didn't feel dragged out at all.

2 For Your Consideration DVDs of this just sold on Ebay for $100 each. People could've waited 12 days to buy it on digital lmao. Considering it takes a few days to ship it will probably be on digital 5-8 days after they get their DVDs.

Kinda creepy. 30 minutes too long.

I thought this movie was gonna be like a Manson cannibal thing where Mark Rylance gathers up a bunch of young hot cannibals and starts a family who go around eating people.

Boy was I wrong.

I didn’t love it and I’d never watch it again but I see so many films I’d never even entertain seeing without the Regal pass.

The reason I thought it was 30 minutes too long is because I looked at my phone for the time at the 90 minute mark.
