The Final Chapter still has the most expensive look as far as the series is concerned. The show doesn't even compare with how big that movie looked and felt. Whether you hate Final Chapter or not, it had an amazing big budget look.

The show looks like it's money spent more wisely and with effort towards being slick. But again I can see that being an issue and Netflix ending the show for that reason. (Or the production company not being able to sell a season 2 to Netflix due to money). I'm wishing the show well. It looks entertaining despite the youth attempt.

The movie had a lesser budget than it should and JR knew that. He did what he always does and applied his b movie flair to it. For me it worked.

I would love this show to do great and get multiple seasons. And I want the film series well and for it to get multiple sequels. I think if the sequel is given a bigger budget and promoted right, it can do well in the movie theater market now. And yes it needs a good story, just adapt Code Veronica and that's it. No mixing anything, but I'm afraid they won't adapt Code Veronica due to the crossdressing in the game. So who knows.

Supposedly Lily Gao has been brought in to play Ada in the Resident Evil 4 remake after her appearance in this. We only get a couple brief snippets of her in the new trailer, but it does sound like her.

Hoping for a sequel announcement at some point. Enjoyed the film enough to want to see more. Maybe they can course correct Leon’s characterization

Thought Chris & Claire were spot on in terms of looks and characterization

I was hoping the RE showcase would ripoff the SH one and also announce a sequel film. But maybe we'll hear more later down the road. It's nearly been a year since the last one and Roberts' plate is currently clean when it comes to directing.

I think they all worked, in similar and new ways. Leon is totally fine. Maybe clean up his language and give him the haircut people want then maybe that'll win over the crybabies.

Ada feels, looks and sounds different from REmake 2 and I am not convinced so far that this is an "improvement" but Lily Gao deserves the shot. Why not and an Asian performer deserves the role more than a non-Asian actress. Only Japanese dubs had her being played by an Asian lady. Yeah... but some of the mo-cap back then had to have been done by Japanese actors due to where the studio is.

Li Bingbing being dubbed over by Sally Cahill in the 5th PWSA abortion and all the other drama sure was something: https://residentevil.fandom.com/wiki/Li_Bingbing

Edit: Neil Newbon seems to be back. I always liked his passion in streams and so on and he is good at going full ham.

I am not a gamer. I enjoyed this movie. But it was not a hit. It made just under $42mm, against a budget of $25mm. The Netflix series also failed to get a second season. They're not making another one, certainly not with a higher budget.
