I have been reading some articles saying that Universal still holds the distribution right to the Incredible Hulk and Namor the Sub-Mariner, while other articles say that Universel's distribution hold on both characters will expire in June 2023, and the Incredible Hulk and Namor the Sub-Mariner will go back to Marvel Studios/Disney which will finally get the opportunity to make a standalone movie for Hulk and Namor. But as of right now, I'm not sure who's telling the truth about this whole thing. Are we going to see a solo movie of Hulk and/or Namor sometime after June 2023 or what? I'm so confused.

No one here really knows for sure. I'd bet a Namor movie will never happen. Hulk is a lot more likely, but if it's World War Hulk, is it really a solo Hulk movie?

Speaking of World War Hulk, I still think the movie's title should be "Incredible Hulk : World War". The main character's name might be up front in the title, much like Captain America : Civil War, that movie was in large part "a Captain America movie", even though the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel is titled "the Marvels" which will feature Ms. Marvel and Photon, it will mostly throw the spotlight on Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel.

Least as the Sub Mariner of Motion Pictures Funnies Weekly #1. That comic, which was his first appearance, is public domain now. Seems like it's kinda like the situation with Tarzan (or Tar-Zan as one of his public domain monikers). They've already changed him up big time from his comic origins anyway, Marvel can't use it to their advantage?

Marvel could be looking to focus on quality over quantity for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phases 5 and 6.

According to a Marvel Studios source cited by Cosmic Circus, the studio is re-examining its upcoming slate after "internal negative feedback" over the handling of Phase 4's distribution and quality. The issues addressed behind the scenes include creative difficulties with scripts, post-production problems and lacklustre visual effects. To prevent Phases 5 and 6 from continuing down a similar path, Disney could ensure a creative oversight on MCU projects still in the pre-production stage which in effect could see future projects delayed or outright cancelled.

Following the historic success of Avengers: Endgame in 2019, fan anticipation was high for what was in store for Phase 4 of the MCU. But a common complaint following each new release in Phase 4 is that the shared universe now feels too disconnected and there is an inconsistency in tone between projects such as Eternals, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or Thor: Love and Thunder. Marvel Studios president and chief creative officer Kevin Feige defended this aspect of it, claiming this is what makes Phase 4 so unique.

"That's always the intention, is that the Marvel Studios logo doesn't promise a particular group of characters and a particular exact tone," Feige said. "It promises a spirit and a style and a vibe and an emotion, I hope. And it's perfect timing to go from Moon Knight to Ms. Marvel, specifically because they're so unique and so different with [Doctor Strange in the] Multiverse of Madness and [Thor:] Love and Thunder on either end of that."

It feeling disconnected isn't the problem. It's the fact that the writing sucks for a lot of it now (Strange, Thor, Spider-Man).

I haven't seen Wakanda Forever yet, or Love & Thunder...but I've enjoyed every other MCU film so far. Sure, some are better than others, but all in all they keep me entertained, and that's what matters.

Phases 1-3 were 23 movies long over 11 years.

Phase 4 was 17 movies and shows over the course of 2 years. There is definitely a quality control problem. There is no way I could list all 17 projects. The only phase 4 projects that were worth watching, in my opinion, were WandaVision and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

I still think Marvel should have handled the D+ shows in a similar way that they did with the Netflix shows. Instead of trying to tie the shows into the movies, give the shows their own arc. Like how the Netflix shows built up to The Defenders. Take 4-5 characters and give them their own show and have them interact mainly with one another. Have a D+ cameo in a movie once in a while so fans know its the same universe or have them show up in big crossover movies to help (like Secret Wars) but keep them mostly to themselves.

Imagine if D+ came out of the gate with shows like Daredevil, Moon Knight, Blade, Punisher and gave them 10-12 episodes each. Then built them all up to teaming up in a Midnight Son's movie. Could have been epic.
