Yes, my speculation was wrong. I actually went to a Best Buy today and found a copy with the UV sticker on the outside. I have no idea what went wrong with my copy, it must have been a production error.

Anyone have an idea as to why Paranormal Activity 4 (which is now available for purchase) is not appearing as Ultraviolet on Vudu and Cinemanow?

I thought it was going to be UV compatible?

Paramount movies aren't UV for cinemanow, and your UV title usually wont be enable for vudu until after release date which is next tuesday

Thanks for the answer. I posted on another thread about it too and talked about the b.s. Cinemanow game me today about it.

They said that the studio didn't offer that movie as a UV title. When I linked them to the Vudu movie that now shows the UV logo the guy disconnected on me. lol.

I just redeemed the Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol and Vudu gave me the SD copy but the spreadsheet says HDX... anyone else have this?

No... came from a sealed blu-ray... i opened it myself. I e-mailed Vudu though I doubt it'll help.


Edit: received an e-mail from Paramount after MI4 and Hugo redeemed in SD that "The packaging clearly states SD Digital Copy. We suggest you read the fine print before purchasing." Friendly group of people over at Paramount.....

As a matter of fact, the covers of both 'Hugo' and 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' clearly state:
"Ultaviolet contains a copy of the Motion Picture only, in High Defintition Format, with an English Language Track."

So I don't want to contribute to this thread degenerating into "I got SD and not HD" discussion, but I just traded for two movie codes that according to the "Ultraviolet Vudu Redemption Quality (Blurays) : Sheet1" spreadsheet should have been in HDX but instead redeemed in SD:

Step Up: Revolution
Tyler Perry's Madea's Witness Protection

Is there any real chance that the codes I redeemed came from Blu-ray and still redeemed as SD, or are they more likely from DVD? Another way to ask the question: Has anyone else seen this?

If you read the forums over at Vudu, some codes will occasionally and randomly give you a SD copy, when you are supposed to get a HD copy. They still haven't figured out why this happens.

I'll read up over there, thanks. That gives me a little hope that maybe with Vudu's help I can get the HDX version of the movies.

They also have a Firefox/Heartbreak Ridge combo pack with UV codes for both for $7.88. That is a steal, but the code either doesn't work or isn't active yet...

Walmart put those discs out early. I don't believe those codes become active until March 11 or something.

I'm so glad I remembered this post. I went to Wal-mart today specifically looking for The Last Starfighter on Blu-ray with a UV code. After looking for 10 minutes in the bin I nearly gave up. I only found two copies, none of which had a code. Then as I was walking to another section, there was an entirely different bin, in which the movies were neatly stacked for once. All these were $7.88 and had a UV tag on them and there were plenty of copies of each title. Then when I got in the car and opened my copy, I was ticked for a moment. There was no UV slip. Then I noticed the sticker on the wrapping with the code on the back. Apparently this is how they do it now. Anyway, Im super stoked to have one of my favorite films in amazing clarity as well as having it available to me whenever I'm on the go.

I may go back next week for Army of Darkness, Dune, and 12 Monkeys.

Does anybody know if they redeem in HDX via Vudu?

I went to Walmart last night and found The Terminator (Remastered) with a Vudu none UV digital copy code in the $7.88 BD bin. The digital copy code is saying it is invalid when I try to redeem it on Vudu. The BD case had a white sticker on the top right that says Walmart and MAR13. So I assume it was not to be sold until March 13. I have put a support case with Vudu. I will post when I can redeem and what quality it redeems as.
