Well, you should be proud of me now, neoz. I'm going way out on a limb with this being a romcom, a genre I usually would run away in terror from - but I just bought the Nisekoi boxset to add to my Aniplex collection. I watched the first two episodes on Crunchy, and I can tell it's gonna be a real struggle for me to sit through, lol... It will only be the second token romcom in my entire anime collection, the other being Toradora.

I debated for a while on March but in the end I just couldn't justify it. Maybe if a reasonably priced complete set ever comes out.

I did that with the uk for sword art online set and now working on the fate series this way, of course using a region free player.

Yep same for me. I enjoyed it and that was one where I let my brother borrow the discs to watch as well so they saw good use.

This was my thought process behind waiting as well. I think it's big enough to get a box set, but we will see.

I think the original, School Idol Project, is the best place to start. I still have fond memories of Start Dash.

I started with Superstar and didn't have any issues following the story. While I haven't seen the original yet, I think Superstar might be a better starting point since it has a smaller main cast in its first season compared to the other series.

Each of the arcs are separate so you don't have to watch the previous entries at all. I just enjoy the original the most.

I could be wrong but I've always assumed Aniplex USA won't put out a complete series (or season) box set unless Japan has first.

Well, at least it's good to know I'm not the only one who avoids idol anime, lol. I am much more particular with my anime than most fans - I love drama, especially a good romance drama, but I generally avoid romcoms because it's the comedy that is a major turnoff for me. I also don't care for sports or game competition in anime, so normally I wouldn't even bother with something like the March series, except that it seems like it will have good drama in other aspects, so hopefully I will mostly enjoy it. I've actually only seen the first 6 episodes of March.

I also tend to stay far away from battle shonen, CGDCT, Moe, Chibi, and most Mecha anime.
