Anime Haul - Post New Pictures!

Today's mail brought some blurays. Magi sets from the Rightstuf sale and Japanese K-On sets which were a secret santa gift. GBA games part of a trade.




Been moreso busy buying/acquiring video games lately. If you like games then expand the spoiler there is some cool stuff here. This is over the last month as I try not to post in this thread without actual anime.

Local game store expanded their black friday sale to all week this week. I grabbed these Monday and Tuesday.

Violet Evergarden the Movie arrived yesterday from Anime Limited. It's the collector's edition 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray combo pack set. Not yet seen the film but it's a pretty nice deluxe package despite the lack of on-disc bonus features. Region B only Blu-ray disc.

Discotek Media haul from Rightstuf's weekly sale arrived yesterday as well. 11 titles for $370. I generally avoid the Discotek titles included in Rightstuf's Black Friday/Holiday sale because those 'one day only' offers are pointless for non-US folk due to high postage costs.

Bitmap Books have recently released their latest book in their video game history batch, this time focusing on first-person shooters from 1992 up until 2002 (the reason for this range is because they can cover 2003+ as separate books over time).

I'm Too Young to Die is a reference to one of the difficulty modes in the classic DOOM franchise and this book also features various games including id Software's Quake, 3D Realms' Duke Nuken 3D, iconic film franchises that had games like Alien and James Bond, Bungie's Halo & Marathon, and more.

It's really good and it's laid out in a different format to the other books because it looked better for the photos they have.

A surprise pickup thanks to my bonus pay from work, so I went ahead and pre-ordered & received God of War Ragnarok for the PlayStation 5. I did manage to finish the game with a Platinum trophy after 45 hours playtime, and it's such a great addition to the franchise. It is making me revisit the previous game to get the rest of those trophies.

Before going on holiday I wanted to bring my Nintendo Switch but I needed a few things first to make sure I'm prepped. Picked up a carrying case, a screen protector, an SD Card and since it was available, I also acquired The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The latter two arrived first, while the former two arrived the next day.

Though in the end I just ended up playing Super Mario 64 (3D All-Stars) instead lol.

A Black Friday item from Amazon, thanks to someone pointing it out while I was returning from work. This is the WD_BLACK SN850X M.2 SSD 1TB drive for the PlayStation 5. I wanted more storage space and I figured now was time so that I can get more backlog downloaded/installed.

Won't lie, the PS5 faceplates are a lot more tedious than the video tutorials will make you think. The trick that I found with putting the plate back on was looking at the top corner where you can see the two circles (and where they're supposed to be slotted). Once I noticed that, putting more pressure into slotting it back in (even if it looks like you're going to break it) was the way to re-attach it.

Acquired more non-Asian films for the 4K Ultra HD collection. Arriving first were JOKER and The Northman from Amazon, unfortunately no slipcases for both of these (more disappointed in the former though due to the other DC titles still having theirs).

Then I went to town and picked up AD ASTRA, Doctor Sleep, Don't Look Now, and Le Mans '66 (Ford v Ferrari), each were part of the 2 for £24 deal in HMV. I have seen all except for Don't Look Now and The Northman. I do plan to get a lot of older films especially from Arrow, Studio Canal and other distributors as long as the 4K remaster is worth the price.

While I was in town earlier in the month, I picked up more manga over at Travelling Man. I went for The Promised Neverland Vol. 5-8 and One Punch Man Vol. 2-6. Now OPM Vol. 1 has been out of stock for a while, but I figured I'll get the later volumes whilst they were there.

Probably the final item of the month because the post office has delayed my UP1 package (which shipped out last Thursday, probably the worst time to do so due to the postal strikes which are happening again tomorrow). There are other packages incoming but are expected to be in the December haul.

After a 6-month delay, Future Boy Conan Part 2 has finally arrived yesterday for the 4K format.

You lucked out big time with the wrong item being sent. You got a 1/7 scale figure that goes for like $120 for $20.

Also, I'm not familiar with that figure, but it looks like you got an authentic one based off the "Sales Outside Japan Only" sticker on the box. Normally prices that low are a red alarm for a bootleg.

Yeah, the figure is almost certainly authentic. They just got really lucky and Amazon messed up and picked the wrong item. That third party seller would likely be incredibly pissed at Amazon if they ever find the inventory discrepancy.
