Replacing credits in situations such as this always struck me as a pointless waste of time. I've never watched a film I liked and felt upset or had my enjoyment lessened in any way because the title wasn't in English or the title by which I knew the film.

Just noticed the cover art for this release was available, and i'm stoked! it matches my old VHS cover.

For anyone interested, this has reversible cover art. The other side is titled as NO ESCAPE. The disc has no title on it at all, and the film's on-screen title is ESCAPE FROM ABSOLOM.

Not on the front, the blue rating logo is the same on the side edge and the back cover side.

[Not a real review] ...I can't speak for anyone else (I've been told my standards are far too low) but I enjoyed watching this disc. Some speckling here and there (I only really noticed on the opening and closing credits, but there may have been other instances) and as often happens the good quality really highlights a handful of dodgy effects shot. It's a pretty average (probably quite old) transfer that won't win any awards, but I'm happy to have a copy that obliterates the ancient DVD.

Can you confirm any specs for the disc? Audio, subtitles, encode etc etc

Stay that way and you will keep enjoying discs. I'm not sure if some round here even watch them to be honest, they just look at screenshots. It's insanity!

Got the disc today and I am quite happy with it!
Image looks good, fine grain is intact. Bitrate I couldn't check yet.
Sound is English 2.0 DTS HD MA and serviceable. Nothing outstanding, but ok.
Italian, French, Spanish, and German languages are in 2.0 only
English subtitles only

Extras: 2 Making of documentaries, 1 Theatrical Trailer and 4 TV Spots, reversible cover art with 'No Escape' title and without the rating logo.

Only issue is that the German language track is roughly 0.5sec out of synch from approx the second half of the movie.
So for anyone wanting to import it because of that, beware. All the other languages seemed fine.

I would think if anyone wanted German audio on this they would just buy the German disc, which also happens to have English 5.1 DTS-HD MA.

Well I am German myself and I can tell you from another German movie forum that quite a few people have already imported the Umbrella release. Since I can confirm the audio issue on the German track, it's just fair to warn them.

The label that is releasing it in Germany is usually tampering with the image a little bit by applying some DNR. So, the 'informed' people are always interested in avoiding these kinds of issues.
