Filled in a few gaps for now but hoping that D2D/M2D sticks around for a while, even if the titles are MA only. Today's adds brings my Vudu total up to 2071 movies.
Going to use the Chrome "Vudu Catalog" Addon to take a quick inventory in case things go sideways tomorrow so I have something to refer to besides my personal spreadsheet. Last edited by AZBrowncoat; 07-11-2018 at 09:14 AM. |

Waitress 20071 hrs 48 minsPG-13 Comedy, Romance A small town waitress stuck in a lousy marriage finds love when an exciting out-of-towner enters her life. Watch SD, HD July 11, 2018 so they are still putting fox titles into uv lockers on 7/11 at this moment |

Vudu is west coast based so they are just starting their day. I imagine this may be a manual process so it may take some time. If they said yesterday was the last day, I would tend to believe that is their intent.

The Fox transition to MA-only has been completed. Unowned titles that loaded as MA & UV earlier this morning are now showing as solely MA. Owned titles are showing as both MA and UV (at least for now).

Yeah, that's a bummer. This morning I had about 15 titles I wanted to scan. They all still had the UV logo next to the title in Vudu. I only ended up doing 6 of them. I confirmed that they all ended up in my UV locker. After reading Greyman's response that it was probably just a delay, I just checked and the remaining 9 or so are only MA now. This bites.

So, as I was checking my list on Vudu's site, Say Anything was the only title to still have a UV logo listed. So I quickly scanned it and checked out, but it's not appearing in my UV locker and the Say Anything page on Vudu now shows only MA. It's in my Vudu account and Movies Anywhere, but it is not in my UV account.
The six titles I redeemed this morning are still in my UV account. I must have just beaten their updates as Greyman noted - they're on the west coast. I should have done all of them this morning. ![]() |

Juno which is Fox Searchlight was one of the titles I redeemed this morning. It's still showing up as UV on Vudu's sight.
There's Something About Mary and Cast Away are also showing up as UV, but they are 20th Century Fox. I wonder if that's because I already redeemed them (this morning) when they were still UV. Anyone else that doesn't own any of those titles showing the UV logo? |

So why exactly IS Fox doing this? Just to have their own streaming site, apart from Wal-Mart?? The whole draw of Movies Anywhere was that it linked with Vudu!
I'm kinda sick of EVERYTHING being available on different sites. It's too much. Netflix, Hulu (I have Hulu Live w HBO add-on), Youtube, Movies Anywhere, Vudu, and on and on. Then everyone wants you to subscribe to Patreon!! Ugh!! |

Its not a Vudu thing and it is not created by Wal-mart or Vudu. People complained that UV never fulfilled the promise of watching movies anywhere, anytime. Why? Services geolocked their websites and the so called global UV player that was to be provided at MyUV.com never surfaced. So Disney reached out to the other studios, branched off the Keychest system, then helped build Movies Anywhere’s offices on thier property. Since both UV and MA have fees related to the services attached, it makes business sense for Fox to drop UV avoiding the payment to Ultraviolet. Fox then dropped iTunes and Google Play redemptions which again avoids payment to Apple and Google. Going to Movies Anywhere only means they do not pay services any fees, they have full control of their digital products, and they maximize the profit on those digital products. Consumers win by having the ability to enjoy The Greatest Showman on their iPad on the way to London or experiencing Big in 4K on their big screen can now do so without rebuying things. Consumers lose by not being able to share a library anymore or obtain free 4K upgrades through iTunes. |

Vudu should simply have their own sharing system that doesn't rely on UV. iTunes and Google have their own. Vudu should too.
UV is all but dead. |

I for one, am glad this is happening. This puts more pressure on UV and other studios to bow to the pressure to switch to MA only. It will be better in the long one if their is one digital locker system. I said the same thing 3 years ago when it was UV. But UV was never close to making it happen. Movies Anywhere is close, just needs a few more partners. I refuse to buy any more movies from any studios that don't support MA.
