I was in this shop yesterday and word of warning, they are real expensive, they sell some criterion on blu, but mostly stuff like warner archive, twilight time, and other US distributors. Also, they stock some stuff from Europe and UK, but as I mentioned above, very pricey for 1 bluray- you would have to be quite desperate to pay anywhere upwards of $50 + for 1 title at this place. Be warned.

Sounds like a shop I used to visit in my Student days at Invercargill.. good for when you don't have a credit card for online purchases, but only when you really need that special title quick.

I haven't been there for years, but that sounds about right. I bought some old dvd's back in the day, but I recall their blu's being rather pricey so I never really bought them unless they were last minute presents.

Sort of. I couldn't pay with my credit card - kept bringing up an error message so I just paid via PayPal. Thankful to have been able to have placed my order in any case.

This is how far they have fallen. Suicide Squad 4k.... $49.98! Sicario 2 4K.... $49

Are you kidding me? 50 BUCKS. Get outta here with that BS. Sicario is $44 at JB. They ain't even trying.

There are plenty of examples both ways.Moral of the story, check prices at both before buying.

Anyone have any experience with Zavvi customer support? They charged me twice for an order and are really dragging their feet in refunding. Gave me some BS about needing to wait for a charge check, but I think they're just stalling to hang onto my money for as long as possible.

On the verge of asking the bank to reverse the second charge, but thought I'd check here in case anyone had any tips. TIA

Obviously would love them plastic steelbook protectors you can buy one day but are so expensive and would need so many. But cheap poly bags which are good in size but very cheap and would need 100s which fit steelbooks easy i have found some i buy dont fit steelbooks and even struggle to fit blu rays with slipcovers. Pretty much after ones that do most obviously might be hard to get all steelbooks cover that might have slipcovers or thick j cards. What do you buy? Hopefully can purchase in australia as need asap.

There is Hive but their postal costs are enormous.

Their imports are expensive, but they stock local releases and second hand titles at good prices. I’ve been getting stuff from them for years.

Answering my own question here.
The 4K and the blu ray do sport the Dolby Atmos soundtrack - at least according to the back cover.

Question about JBHiFI NZ and their international shipping.

A few weeks ago, an item could be ordered for the typical JB international charge of $8.50.

In the last 2-3 weeks I've noticed that shipping suddenly is $15-40 minimum for a single bluray. $35 to ship a single disc to the US, $31 to UK and even $17 to AUS

Did I miss an announcement or is there some glitch in their site or switch to all express shipping or did the Postal Service declare war on international shipping?

You can still find gems in there:

I got the OOP MM DVD of The Killer Must Kill Again for $50 when it was going for $100US on Amazon
They regularly have new release titles cheaper then JB Hifi. I got Atomic Blonde and Baby Driver from there for about $18 when JB had them at $27
In regards to their imports, keep your eyes peeled. They will occasionally discount titles - grabbed a number of 88 Films discs for $22 each.
They occasionally also get NSM media books and steels that are reasonably priced. Got the Halloween 3 steel from them for $40

I don't disagree with your comments, it is still more favorable 8/10 times to go on Amazon directly. However it's great to have a bricks and mortar store to browse. I'm happy to support them with a purchase every so often. I usually make a day out of it when I'm in the city: Play, DVDCollection, Minotaur and Dixons inbetween catching a film and few beers.

I need a little assistance. I’m about to purchase the Shazam digibook either from Sanity or JB Hi-Fi and was wondering if both discs will play here in US? I was initially thinking JBHF because of the Harryhausen Sinbad set, but couldn’t find anything else that I wanted to round it off to around $100 so I could pay via my PayPal Credit. Also, does anyone like one over the other? Thank you in advance.

Just checked on my player, although the packaging has a Region B symbol, the blu-ray disc is region free. The DVD will be Region 4 locked.
