Paramount out of UV? - Blu-ray Forum

I just redeemed the Overlord code, which is Paramount and It's not coming up UV. Is this new or did I miss some news on that?

It may be because UV is shutting down July 31.

Overlord is not released yet so digital codes don’t work until the release dates. Cause I got Black Sails the compete series a week early from Walmart and the code would t work till the official release.

Some titles do not get UV status until after the physical copy is released (some days after), and some titles get UV status on digital pre-orders.

As for now, neither VUDU, FandangoNow, or Kaleidescape has this title with a UV symbol. That could change as early as this week though.

He said he redeemed the code already, so apparently his code worked. It just didn't port to UV.

I had the same thing happen with the Jack Ryan code I bought on forum. Redeemed at Paramount but would not port. This was only a week ago.

I had mentioned it a week ago when first I noticed Sgt Stubby wasn't UV on VUDU (figured it was a one off as a smaller title), but then saw Nobody's Fool wasn't UV there either nor did any Paramount pre-orders list UV.

That was a day before the announcement of UV shutting down so my guess now is they are done, and I also would not be surprised to see new Sony and WB titles go to MA only status soon as well.

with them not joining MA (yet??) and the demise of UV in July I would not be surprised if Paramount created their own digital locker. They really are pushing the CBS all access with Star trek discovery so wouldn't be surprised if they were gearing to push their customer base for digital codes down that road.

Or they just support redemptions at specific retailers as they did in the past.

I'm bummed about this mainly because I was hoping Bumblebee would share but I think Paramount is pretty much out, hopefully WB hangs in there so Aquaman shares.

I’d be surprised if Aquaman isn’t UV. I checked Vudu last night and even though Aquaman doesn’t have the UV symbol, both The Mule and Fantastic Beasts do.

A lot of older Paramount titles on Kaleidescape no longer have UV tags (some still do). Is this new?

It would be great if the studios would be upfront about when they're going to leave/pull uv but I think they like to keep digital movie collecting an unstable mess.

I just redeemed a Jack Reacher 4K code (yesterday), and got UV for it, so not sure what happened with your code.

It's not totally studios will start dropping UV for their new releases from here on out, but I hope not, I want Overlord and Bumblebee, and hoping they will port out of Vudu into FN as well.

I'm holding out hope for Overlord being UV - waiting on buying it until I know.

I would like to own the disc set for this one, so not terribly worried about. However, yes, I won't redeem until I know what I'm getting.

Hope I'm wrong but I have a bad feeling WB will be the only one from here on out that will include uv for future releases, possibly Sony too but we'll see.

only some new WB include uv, its very much a YMMV thing. for the price westworld s2 bluray is, pissed me off to learn that single use code isnt even uv.

Sony still would, in theory, because their Ultra app is still up and running, still has a UV redeem page that works. In fact I used it a day or 2 ago to redeem Bram Stoker's Dracula 4K, and it worked (though only ported via UV to FN, since Vudu does not yet have it UHD).

Nobody's Fool is now out on Blu (since some said there was a chance UV rights would be added then) and is now the second straight Paramount release to hit disc without UV, with no sign of UV on any upcoming releases. I'm pretty sure Paramount is done with UV rights on new releases.
