The first movie is interesting/entertaining. Surprised it took so long for a sequel to Dreamworks' Puss'n Boots. Medium layers of 3D mostly in the original. Hopefully this new one has 3D too.

DreamWorks Animation to Release MoonRay Renderer as Open Source Software

I have to say - while I thought the animation in this was stunning - the narrative was way all over the place. The first movie had charm this felt emotionless and just going through the motions. I also thought it needed to be funnier a lot of the humor to me felt very forced.

3/5 rating - I loved the first movie, and I went into this with high hopes
