Someone on twitter told me that season 1 was more of an experiment and that there are no plans for season 2.

Yeah I believe they mentioned that they still have a good amount of S2 sets in storage, so they weren't considering a complete set at this time. I would assume that releasing the S1 complete set caused a lot people to hold off buying S2 sets.

I should have known something was up when they released this set before any Japanese version had been released. I guess the only upside is I got it super cheap at Rightstuf paying for it mostly with cash back earned on my credit card.

It's not nearly as bad as the horrendous Cyber City Oedo 808 upscale, but it feels like a useless release done as a cash grab and then they will eventually re-release it based on an actual HD film scan. Which is exactly what happened with Oedo all while getting to double dip people.

Having seen all these previously I can't say I'm surprised. Guess I'll see how I feel about it before I would just give away the DVDs, maybe just keep everything. Either way I'm fine buying it, wasn't expecting a miracle.
