New Line has a perfect chance now to fill the gap that will be left by IT after Chapter 2, next to Blumhouse they're the best studio in the genre so they should start making new Elm Streets alongside Conjuring-universe films for an impressive horror lineup.

Paramount spent a lot of the past decade trying to make a new Friday the 13th, which never came to fruition, and at this point it's probably done unless another studio gets the rights.

After the last film pretending it was something new all through its production just to turn out to be exactly the same thing we have seen in every sequel it would be nice if they actually tried something different.
You mean like they already did 20+ years ago with H20? That was cool and then Resurrection f'd everything up.

David Gordon Green Promises That ‘Halloween Ends’ Will Indeed End *This* Michael/Laurie Story

Quote:
"They’re never done telling the Frankenstein story, and at this point, Michael Myers is a classic movie monster. But our Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode/Michael Myers saga will be done,” Gordon Green told the site. “The fun of it is also seeing it end and knowing that it can. If you just keep trying to elongate it and milk it for all of the money, then that’s boring.”

“I’m sure that, when we’re done, other people will come in and do the same thing, or have their own reinvention. Michael Myers is iconic enough to allow that, too. He’s like James Bond, where you can have different actors and different filmmakers. He represents something so simple and scary that he can be translated by lots of different people.”

Within 5 years of Halloween Ends, there will be a reboot or a new chapter. This franchise will outlive us all.

Many Dracula, Frankenstein, and Mummy movies were made over the last century. I have no problem with Michael Meyers and similar movie characters (Freddy, Jason, etc.) having different adaptations/interpretations as time moves on. The originals will always be there.

I so wish they would've listen to Carpenter after the first film. Now even he wants more sequels. It was simplistic and perfect as it was. Sometimes evil just is, always has been, always will. No explanation through childhood experiences, socioeconomics, it just is and it will never die. Simple easy to understand and disturbing. Message received after one movie.

At least they gave us a 30 second teaser. Should just give us the whole trailer.

It was only obvious no way would Blumhouse miss out on all them tickets due to limited capacity cinemas

I also think the 2018 movie was helped by that fact it was released on Halloween for like the first time in years for this franchise lol not August, not July but OCTOBER the month this franchise was built for so I think that’s why they don’t wanna take a chance and release it somewhere around Easter or summer etc

It’s a shit situation all round the franchise finally got a fresh kickstart and strong legs I hope people are still interested to come back again and kills does at last 70% of what the 2018 movie did at the box office.

Different in what way there’s not much else you can do with a guy in a mask stabbing people lol

All you can do is take an approach that respects its audience and give it some care and attention the 2018 movie did that imo and it was a success

The 2018 movies spin was different in that it was a direct sequel to the events of 1978 and just that you might not like that but it was a fresh spin for a sequel

And then Rob zombie tried something drastically different with his H2 and it was a disappointment

Only if they have screenings, which I don't think they will need to. Is Ends filmed?

Blumhouse/Universal always screens their films, so it will inevitably get one. It hasn't filmed yet.

Heard they're aiming for Fall 2021 filming date.

This trilogy is supposed to close out the Laurie strode saga for good, so you bet your ass she will survive until Halloween Ends. Will she die in the Ends though, is the question.

Me personally, i think Karen dies in Halloween Kills.
