Excellent. I have volume 1 of the show (the two-disc version), but never did collect the rest of it. Never expected it to go OOP, so now I could kick myself for not keeping up with it.

I remember when that R.O.D set seemingly wouldn't sell out. It took like 2 years to sell out, and that's with it being reduced from $160 to $100 in like 2 TRSI Holiday Sales. Safe to say it underperformed for Aniplex USA as their stuff sold faster than that back then, and price reductions almost never happened when TRSI had their yearly Holiday Sale. I'm lucky I got it when I did (December 2012 for $100).

Fun fact: $160 is roughly what Geneon charged for the series when they had it, and Aniplex USA's president at the time was, the former president of Geneon, Henry Goto.

I also still have the old 2000 DVD (I believe it was put out by Urban Vision?) and the new Discotek DVD looks night and day better in comparison. There's still plenty they could do to clean it up further, but in comparison to the original DVD release, it's not bad at all.

It's also incredibly hard to find/come by on eBay as well. I've been trying to acquire the series in Brand New condition, but it's either too expensive when I find it or it's in Used condition. I gave up collecting the individual volumes on DVD...

Hopefully if/when a company acquires the license for Neon Genesis Evangelion, it'll be the 1995 original dub - and NOT the Netflix dub. Yuck... I also hope said company releases a Collector's Edition BluRay Boxset that includes the whole series with Volume 7 & 8 Directors Cut that has the extra footage that the normal release didn't have, plus the two stand alone movies "Death & Rebirth" and "End of Evangelion". (Plus whatever goodies the company would want to throw in as well, an OST would be awesome)

This series has always interested me but it doesn't appear to have been officially dubbed, let alone dubbed, stateside. Being a fan of Sailor Moon, this looks like a great alternative to have in my collection.

This site list an American BD release for both Wicked City and Demon City, might not mean anything though.

Some people post those listings as a placeholder. Some put those listings like if a company plans a Blu-ray release but gets cancelled for whatever reason. I’ve even seen seperate movie listings with movies that are only released as a Double, Triple, etc. Feature.

Just a few small notes. SCryEd is still licensed by Sentai Filmworks. Coming whenever Sunrise gets their act together. ROD TV is still licensed by Aniplex USA though the release is OOP and probably never coming back. Kyo Kara Maoh is licensed by Discotek for 2020 release. Tylor is still licensed by Nozomi with BD coming in 2020.
