I wish that RightStuf (RIP) had managed to get Gasaraki, the most underrated mecha show of our time, onto at least a SD bluray. Preferably it and its sister show of Blue Gender would be brought over on HD bluray, might as well dream big.
DVDs still hold some advantages over bluray, but now that RS' dvd set has been liquidated in a fire sale, that's not much consolation. |

Both of these are Aniplex titles so unlikely.

Finished 'Junk Boy' and am currently watching 'Golden Boy'. I would love BD's of both. They're hilarious!
There's a DVD of 'Golden Boy' from Discotek. Not sure if they still have the rights, and if so, would they upgrade it to BD? There's also a DVD of 'Junk Boy'. I think the rights to that one are locked behind the lion's gate. So probably little hope of that one getting an upgrade. |

Justin once mentioned that remastering Golden Boy from the source they had would be a nightmare.

Are we allowed to mention OVA's?
If so then one I would like to see the US get in HD is Dragon's Heaven. The creator will never allow it probably because they said that it looks the best on DVD. And that an HD transfer would ruin the atmosphere of the movie. ![]() |

Discotek picked up a few titles on my list since my last post here. So let's go for another list:
Touch Attack No. 1 Yotoden (OVA series) Queen Millennia Ashita no Joe TV series |

When you consider Initial D was never that big of a seller for Tokyopop nor FUNimation, I'm not shocked. Seems the movies didn't do well enough for Sentai Filmworks either.

Initial D is one of those popular yet niche genre shows that probably only attracts a very specific type of audience (car and street racing fans). It's also pretty old to today's fans, and the dated CG cars further minimizes its audience. It's a good show but it asks a lot of the modern viewer to get into it, and doesn't have the casual audience hand holding that a niche show like, say, Yowamushi Pedal does.
