Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said Thursday during the company’s third-quarter earnings call that a sequel to Knives Out is officially a go, hinting that a production start for a follow-up to the money-making and critically acclaimed Rian Johnson whodunit is imminent.

This is unexplored territory for Rian Johnson as he's never made a sequel to any of his original ideas. I'm eager to see how this turns out and excited as hell for more Benoit Blanc.

‘Knives Out’ Sequel Will Have a New Cast, Setting, and Mystery

Johnson went on The Jess Cagle Show and talked about how fans can expect everything to be different other than the return of Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc.

Johnson explained that the new film will have a different cast, different setting, and an entirely new mystery. He also explained that like the Agatha Christie books from which he drew inspiration, the mystery can also find a new subgenre similar to how And Then There Were None is like a slasher and The ABC Murders is like a serial killer story.

I really hope they take their time with this sequel and make a worthy follow up with a mystery that is not overly contrived or forced. I really liked the mystery in the first one.

Is it me or does the Knives Out regular Blu-ray cover spoils the movie?

Anyways, yeah. I liked Knives Out. I mean, it's nothing new if you are already a fan of the classic murder mysteries. But at the same time, it's not very often it gets it right these days.
