I actually think Bliss is a highly probable release as it was recently restored (and hopefully both versions of the film were restored) but not Lantana as the rights are still with Palace.
Lantana not being available on Blu-ray is a disgrace. It's consistently listed amongst the best Australian films ever made.

There's an HD transfer of it out there, the least Palace could do is license it to someone - Umbrella, Imprint...anyone.

Agreed re: Lantana.

You'd think Palace would be looking to maximise every revenue stream they can at the moment given the state of cinemas.

I agree Lantana should be released but given the non appearance of Chopper in Blu Ray just makes me think Palace has little interest in the Blu Ray market.

Also, both would sell pretty well particularly if they could be released as region free.

There's a mint to be made worldwide out of releasing Chopper in HD and it defies comprehension as to why no-one has jumped on it. There's gotta be some angle as to why it hasn't happened yet.

I'd love to see 'Summerfield' remastered. A great Oz movie that serves more respect.

It is puzzling for sure, but there doesn't seem to be that much interest in releasing old Aussie films on blu now. In the late 00's, there were a few major blu releases (Picnic....., Wake in Fright, Breaker Morant etc) then it was basically crickets aside from Gallipoli and maybe a handful of others outside of Umbrella releases.

No Chopper, Lantana, Romper Stomper, Strictly Ballroom etc. I'm not sure if Picnic has been reissued lately either. Haven't seen it around in a while.

Roadshow released Romper Stomper on Blu Ray a few years ago.

True and they along with Muriel's Wedding and no doubt other titles should always have pressings made available when stocks runs very low.

^^Back to Chopper, the dvd is OOP too. Do you think there could be rights issues with that film?

Chopper was co-produced by The Australian Film Finance Corporation, Mushroom Picture & Pariah Entertainment Group. Maybe Palace's distribution rights to the film have expired by now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Chopper has licensing and materials issues, I believe. It's a no-brainer but the costs are significant (at least they were when I last heard about something being costed, which was several years ago).

Lantana is now with Madman. There's a decent looking DCP...

Romper Stomper actually got a local blu-ray release, cos I have it. There's a couple on EbayAU too, but priced at around $50. Ditto Strictly Ballroom. But I've admittedly seen neither around of late... But yeah, there's been no HD release of Chopper anywhere ever.

Just picked up The Last Wave. Any word on what their next release will be? Would love to see them do a release of Campion's Sweetie.

I'm expecting them to announce the next title or even titles this week, now that the first edition is out.

Strictly Ballroom can still be bought in the Baz Luhrmann boxset (currently $25.89 at JB), but not individually.

Just confirmed today! An absolutely solid lineup. Sunday Too Far Away, Big Steal and Malcolm have been on my wishlist forever.
Here’s the article mentioned in the post below: https://www.monsterfest.com.au/simonsherry-1/
The article also mentions MORE titles will be announce soon! Also announces that Barry McKenzie is headed to Blu-ray next year as part of the Ozploitation line!
