I pre-ordered form importcds.com and got a 10% off code for it being my 1st purchase.

It will be nice to see a couple of these that are new to me. The next month can't go by quick enough.

Did they mail you the code after you placed the order?

I've ordered from them before, but I don't seem to have an account set up.

I have this on order as well. Looking forward to it. Been meaning to see Raise the Red Lantern and To Live since the DVD days, but those releases all looked horrendous! Was also looking to collect more Zhang Yimou earlier this year. Almost picked up that South Korean set, but it doesn't have English subs. Picked up the US Blu-ray releases of Shanghai Triad and Coming Home just before this was announced.

Yeah, I picked up Coming Home at 1 of the last B2G1 sales at Target. I have "... Golden Flower" on DVD, so at least that will be an upgrade. Anything that helps to clear the beauty of Zhang's films is a plus.

"... Red Lantern" is so good and the film that turned me on to Zhang's work.

Thanks for this

Pre-ordered it with the code, my first purchase with ImportCDs. A bit cheaper than DeepDiscount (although they seem to be connected companies).

Looking forward to this set.

Ordered this directly from Viavision back in June who immediately charged my cc, then did some updates to their shop which removed the order from my account (they say that's normal), then got an email regarding a delay until September 30th, only to see the release date now listed as October 20th - by looking at the shop page. rather than receiving any updates.

Mild alarm bells.

I wouldn't be too worried, lots of stuff (especially big sets) getting delayed these days.

Covid lockdowns (and postage delays) caused their sets to be delayed so they pushed this (and a few others) by a month or so so people could buy them all.

Ordered direct from Via Vision first day of pre-orders and just received my shipping notification from Australia Post.

Not sure how long it will take, but I’ll let everyone know when this Zhang Yimou boxset arrives and offer my impressions as I own quite a few of the other films on BD already.

Did any non-Australian folk get a shipping notification for this yet? I'm not sure if I should have received one and if so how, to be honest...

With a 10/22 release date, I wouldn't except a notification for another week or 2 at least (hopefully with no more delays...). Maybe even 3 because it's not like shipments from Australia have been super-fast during COVID times.

Just got my shipping notification (and I'm in the U.S.). Raise the Red Lantern is one of my favorite films of all time, and I'm really happy that it finally has an official, English-friendly Blu-ray. I'm looking forward to watching the other films in the set as well, as there are a few I haven't seen.

I ordered it directly through ViaVision the day it was announced. Didn't want to take any chances of it selling out!

Naturally, since the release date on this kept shifting and I am moving soon, I changed the shipping address to my parents' house to be safe. Now it'll just be sitting there in the box until January! (It'll be a great belated holiday, though - by the time I get there I'll have shipped them this, the Evangelion CE, the Gkids Irish Folklore Trilogy release, and Flesh for Frankenstein.)

Ah, okay, thank you. I guess it'll probably be a week or so before the US retailers get the stock in then.

You'll have a nice care package waiting for you
