solid enough movie. Good for religious one, but felt like some bones and sinews of the story were left out.

one thing though. what the heck was up with the HEAVY yellow makeup on Mark's face? And actually on a few other people's face too). IT looked like they slapped yellow turmeric all over the face at times.

I get it for Deadpool 2, as that was a huge movie and added new material in too. But what’s the point of doing a PG-13 recut of a movie which already didn’t perform great, not like it’s gonna do much business now.

The R rating probably stopped the religious family crowd from seeing it on first release, so they're probably looking to get that holiday market down to make a few extra bucks.

They probably spent more re-editing it than they will make though.

More than likely, you're right. One thing though: families were going to see Passion of the Christ like it was the latest Pixar movie, and it was loaded with graphic violence and torture. I guess it's okay for little Janie and John to see gobs of bloodshed if it's biblical. But, no swearing!

Noticed this while looking up my holiday movie going plans and was shocked. How many times has something like this happened where they recut it with a lower rating?

For a theatrical re-releaae, only The King’s Speech comes right to mind in semi recent history (I think Saturday Night Fever did, but before my time, and has happened a couple times for home video). Deadpool 2 kinda also, but included new footage too, so not just a straight PG-13 cut.
