I thought this was entertaining. Something about being based on real/true events makes it more enthralling. Jonathan Majors does a good job and now I'm looking forward to his performance in Creed III. He was already pretty ripped in this. There were about a dozen people in the theater with me which isn't too bad for a Monday matinee.

T-Mobile users (99% of them) also get Paramount+ Essentials free for one year.

Essential is the with-ads plan and no Showtime access. Unfortunately, no way to upgrade and pay the difference for the higher tiers.

My wife is getting Apple TV+ I believe through them (and maybe even Netflix discounted). I wonder if they would do Paramount (kinda doubt it - thinking we had to choose 1 or the other).

Great movie. I was in VFA-32 and already knew about the story of Jesse Brown, plus I read the book. Glad I saw it and can't wait to get in on blu-ray

Devotion (2022) - 8/10

Very good biopic of Jesse Brown, the US Navy's first African American aviator in the early days of the Korean War. The film does a solid job of allowing the characters to reflect real people rather than one-note caricatures. Majors in particular gives a wonderful performance, and is proving to be a dynamic screen presence as his career is set to explode with Ant-Man 3 and Creed 3. I do wish the film wasn't part of the trend of low lit, muted colors photography that has seemingly enamored all of the DPs in Hollywood, especially since there's some really good camera movement work on display here.

Shout out to my friend and former co-worker Chanda Dancy who did a great job with the original music score. Knowing her stellar work ethic and seemingly endless kindness, it's great to see her really make some headway in the business.
