So looking forward to this. Eager to see which films of the last 10 years make it. I'm betting that Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Moonlight, Get Out and Parasite will.

This would be my list (In release date order):

Sherlock Jr.
The Bride of Frankenstein
Singin' in the Rain
The Night of the Hunter
Jaws
Blue Velvet
Do the Right Thing
My Neighbour Totoro
You Were Never Really Here
Portrait of a Lady on Fire

There are rumors that neither Vertigo nor Citizen Kane is #1.

Has 2001 climbed all its way to the top (usually, films from the previous top 10 list have the best chance) or would we have a brand new and relatively latest film like the Joker!

Talking about foreign language films, would not mind if The Secret in Their Eyes (2009) makes an entry. In 2012, it was probably too "new" to be on the list. Though not sure if this would be on the top of the mind of many of the voters.

Number one is probably the Dark Knight.

If TDK is deemed to hold up as well in 2022 as it did in 2008!

If it didn't make it last decade, what makes you think it'll even be on this, let alone #1, even as a joke?

The result is expected to be announced at 7PM GMT (so in about an hour). Maybe time to slip in my 10 based on recent viewings and 1 film per director:

Joker (2019, Philips) - new entry

Persona (1966, Bergman)

Vertigo (1958, Hitchcock)

In the Mood for Love (2000, Wong Kar-wai)

Godfather I & 11 (1972-74, Coppola) - see it as an extended film broken in two parts. In the 2012 poll, its combined votes were like 80, which would have put it in the top 10.

The Secret in Their Eyes (2009, Campanella) - new entry

Seven Samurai (1954, Kurosawa)

Lawrence of Arabia (1962, Lean)

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968, Kubrick)

Singin’ in the Rain (1952, Donen-Kelly)

* They are all good, so any of the above can be #1. Here, I have gone w/ Joker as it is not only an excellent film for its acting, cinematography, and screenplay but also to state that you can have a recently released film as #1!

It would be funny if Joker did make the list and it was above Taxi Driver.

I just hope Tokyo Story isn’t #1. I am in the minority but it’s one of a very few films usually on these Greatest Films lists that I didn’t particularly like. The odd thing is I didn’t mind Late Spring and it’s part of the same trilogy as Tokyo Story.

Weird coincidence, I'm indifferent to Tokyo Story too but Late Spring is on my Top 20.

Eh... I guess I have no more excuses not to spend over 200 minutes watching that. I actually blind-bought it on DVD well over a decade ago but then donated it without even watching it.

Seen 80/100, guess my homework next year is to get those last 20 seem.

Jeanne Dielman is a pretty strong choice, no doubt it wonít get the news coverage Vertigo got in 2012.

Time to unwrap my copy of Jeanne Dielman. The only film in the top 10 I didn't care for is Beau travail. Maybe I need to watch it again.

Nice to see Mulholland Drive at number eight but it is only my third favorite Lynch film. I have never heard of the top pick. I guess I should remedy that soon.
