I’m confused. Are you saying the new Showten release that is coming out in December is a crummy upscale? Or is this in reference to previous bluray release in Japan? From reading the threads, it seems like there are a few scenes we will never see in HD given the condition of the masters.

Still no sign of Sexy Magical Girl Ai though. Still encouraging they did list these though. It was looking like there weren't going to be pre-orders for new Blu-rays or DVDs. They didn't even put up Adult Source Media's (ASM owns BuyAnime) two newest sex scene compilation DVDs, Smothered & Covered 2 and Seduced by a MILF until a few days ago. Hopefully they also get manga pre-orders going too.

BTW, it seems ASM releases are apparently on DVD-Rs? Everything from them notes this, including stuff I know was pressed at least at one time from what I've seen on eBay. Never bought an ASM release yet to confirm this (nearly their entire library doesn't interest me), though they apparently used a BD-R for Night Shift Nurses Experiment as someone submitted that change to the listing.

This title is manufactured on DVD-R discs and may not be compatible with older DVD players and/or gaming consoles.

In RACS's pre-owned section, a few of their releases are noted as DVD-R.

I can confirm that both Night Shift Nurses Experiment & Maid In Heaven from ASM are in fact burnt BD-Rs instead of actual pressed Blu-rays.

(and the image quality for both titles may be the absolute nadir for the entire Blu-ray format. I'm talking sub-bootleg-VHS level here, for real! )

I know ASM's earliest DVD releases were on pressed discs but I have no idea if that's still the case or not because I only buy "complete" titles on Blu-ray, not "compilation" DVDs.

The majority of MB 18+ Blu-ray titles are $24.99, so basically the 3 for $60 equates to 20% off. Would have been better if it were 3 for $50 or 3 for $45 for the Blu-rays. I may do one 3fer, but hopefully they'll have some better offers at Holiday time. And Buyanime sales prices are still higher than what Rightstuf was offereing for their Hentai at regular prices, so they have some more work to do to get some better sales in the works.
