I could see Gollum hitting some really nasty lows for the sake of his precious.

I don't really know what this show can give us that 6 movies with ~20 hours of length haven't already.

They should make it from Bill the pony's perspective.

The LOTR universe is VAST...I can think of many great stories that could be told within Middle Earth. Color me interested.

I'm sure Tolkien would love the likes of Bezos getting his slimy claws on his IP.

F*ck this idea utterly and completely.

Whaaaat?!

I mean, I'm neither for nor against this, mostly just surprised. In a way I'm thinking a new adaptation could be cool, to see the different interpretations of characters and events vs. how Jackson and crew did things.

Wow just read that the rights to make this into a television series is between $200-250 million.
That's before any production costs. Just rights costs only. Wow.

They should have one episode devoted to Shadowfax's POV. It'll be like War Horse for the Middle Earth.

But not before devoting a whole season to the War of the Last Alliance and Isildur.

I won't ever support then after they pulled the plug on the De Niro project.
Love LOTR though. Perfect trilogy
Uh, it was De Niro who supported the cancellation after it being produced by a useless waste of space like Weinstein. De Niro has plenty of projects for you to get excited for. Get some perspective.

If you absolutely must do something...

Do the war between Angmar and the North Kingdom.

Do the Silmarillion, for the love of Eru.

But not this. Anything but this.

That is insanely high but Amazon has the money, and Bezos is a VERY motivated buyer lol

Seriously, though, which characters? Like, who gettin' it on would make the story better? "Lord of the Rings, now with added hobbit sex!"

The movies are pretty much perfect, no need to remake them.

Bezos and Amazon are the saddest example of "Me Too" in history. And I mean the connotation before the whole Weinstein crap.

There should be other fantasy series that Amazon could adapt. Hell, I wouldn't mind someone taking another crack at the Golden Compass books. Or something else.
