Default Movies with new masters (compared to BD)

These movies have masters which are newer than what is currently on BD.

Con Air | Source
The Rock | Source
The Sixth Sense - Looks to be closer to the DE BD master

Please let me know if there are any others and any sources of that info.

Add Die Hard 1-3 and Predator to the list of new masters that are not on Blu-Ray.

I have always thought iTunes had the best picture quality, but lately it seems that Movies Anywhere does and even provides different transfers to blu-ray and iTunes. For example, Notting Hill on iTunes features the same DNRed transfer that the blu-ray has, but on MA there is none to be found and has a nice grain structure. I have also just noticed the Harry Potter movies in 4k also look remarkably better in MA, and Office Space 4k and a number of others. Does anyone else know of any other 4k or non movies that seem to feature much better transfers??

Definitely curious in this thread since there are so many blus with older scans. Looks like nearly the titles referenced so far are owned by Disney. Also interesting to hear of Universal catalog titles that are improved.

Wouldn't surprise me to find out that MA has better stuff for a lot of catalog titles. Assuming that studios sent the most recent things they had available when MA started and it seems like once a retailer has a title they don't get upgraded/fixed unless there are a lot of complaints or the retailer actively seeks out newer versions. Seems Vudu especially still has a lot of older transfers and quite a few titles stuck at SD while others have them in HD.

Seems that most studios have nothing in place tracking who has been given what and sending them something better when they don't have the latest version and retailers don't seem to have a system in place to seek those out on their own for the most part.

Interesting finds. Con-Air is on sale for $5 so I picked that up. If memory serves, the Blu-ray is garbage.
