I don't have many but there are a few I really like.
![]() I picked this one up a while back. I love the Back to the Future Trilogy. I had bought a box set before (I believe it was the 2002 DVD set). I hadn't yet upgraded it to Blu-ray. So this is probably the last time I upgrade this particular trilogy now that I have it on 4k. I love the way the steelbooks create an image of the delorean when put together. Also it's kind of rare that we get a lot of special features on sets like this. You often have to either keep your blu-ray. But here you get 4k and Bluray with a bonus disc. ![]() I missed out on these sets the first time around. Then I saw that Best Buy had restocked and snagged them both. I don't know why it is, but Best Buy is terrible when it comes to these metal tins. I've seen countless pictures of dings and dents. My own arrived with one side crushed. I took it to my local store and they were able to replace it with one that only has a slight ding on the side but it's far better than a lot of the others I have seen. They only had the one in store. I suppose I could have taken a gamble and had another shipped to me but it's hard to tell what that one may have ended up like. ![]() I love the original Batman films. I had missed out on this one as well. I actually bought this 2nd hand. Love the design and the steelbooks and color schemes kind of suit each of the respective films. (Still hoping we get a 4k Dark Knight Steelbook set and I would love a 4k Superman Steelbook set). ![]() ![]() The Raimi trilogy is amazing. I even have a bit of a soft spot for Spidey 3. The Garfield films are 1 good one and a lesser film that killed the Amazing series. But having them all on 4k complete with editors cut of Spider-Man 3 is nice. I also picked up the steelbooks for Spider-Man Homecoming and Far from Home and the artwork matches this legacy collection nicely. Unfortunately, the Legacy collection had no spine labels. I saw a thread on here showcasing spine magnets (Shown below). So I was able to spend a few bucks and solve that problem. ![]() ![]() I had been looking at the 4k Harry Potter collection that came out. I had debated between Blu-ray and 4k as an upgrade over the DVD's I have. Then I saw this go up for preorder and pulled the trigger. ![]() I was introduced to Abbott and Costello by my parents who grew up with them. I had the 4 volumes on DVD. I saw this on Amazon and was happy to finally have all their universal films in one collection/box set. The image quality is a notable improvement over the DVD's. I also like that they split the volumes by dates so you can kind of follow their films in order of release. Finally...just one more... ![]() This box set commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. It has both Gettysburg and Gods and Generals director's cuts on Blu-Ray. I feel that Gettysburg is one of the best war pictures ever made with an incredible ensemble cast. It's also notable for just how authentic it is and deserves a lot of credit for it's extensive use of re-enactors who brought with them their own experiences/expertise and equipment which cut down on the overall cost. Gods and Generals is a bit of an oddity. It is often criticized as southern propaganda but I think it is kind of hamstrung by the fact that it was a 2nd film in what was supposed to be a trilogy where the final film might have tied everything together. Still this is a pretty nice set that has a number of awesome extras like a collectible coin, battle map, and artifact book, and a 32 page exceprt from TIME. |

I could post some single movie boxes, but that would be too many.
Here's some movie boxsets I like The Alien Anthology set with light-up feature, which I never use ![]() ![]() ![]() The Superman Ultimate Collectors Edition DVD, I just can't part with it. ![]() ![]() ![]() And my personal favorite and maybe the best boxset ever made in my opinion. The Harry Potter Wizard's Collection. ![]() ![]() ![]() And then I started to getting autographs for my boxsets to give them more life ;-) ![]() ![]() ![]() |
